New turbo install has begun
Started working tonight on it. Lots of work to do. Started out with a quick mock up to make sure there weren't fitment issues. I had to back out the lower right exhaust manifold stud to get it on the head. I have to redo my radiator hoses with real stainless and run my coolant hoses for the turbo. Gonna also have to hack up my a/c compressor mounting bracket to get it to fit but it looks like everything should fit smoothly when it's all said and done.

Andy, when you buy your next car.. talk to me before. We have to agree on something I like too kuz I'm going to buy the same exact car and boost the **** outta it right there with you!
Re: New turbo install has begun
mine is a .63 too. It has a 3" outlet. My compressor housing isnt the ported shroud, I was told that the ported shroud can cause turbulence and that the non-ported housing actually has a higher inlet velocity, can't see it making much difference though. I think these will spool just fine, hehe.

Hey what kind of engine workk do you need done previous to a turbo install as such?. I'm guessing you made some internal changes?
Because I would love to just give the stock a little boost.

Good stuff Andy. That 3076 should flow nicely for you. I know my 3071 (same A/R) has got some big lungs. Boost onset is incredibly violent though, wait till you feel it, it's awesome!
What are you going to do for axles? I imagine with that much power going to slicks, those ****ers are gonna to snap in a hurry. In for more progress.
Oh, bought my FPR, drag wheels and slicks this weeked. Wee!

Yeah, that's what I've heard, I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing it yet. I dono about axles, we'll see when the time comes. I'm thinking of picking up a set of stockers to bring to the track in the event I have any issues.
You need injectors! Hehe.

Re: New turbo install has begun
Hey guys, when you turn up the boost, does the BOV sound different?
Then one more question
I was driving behind this Evo8 one day and I think they slammed on the gas, and something happened where he reached full boost, or the wastegate opened or something, but this sound came out of that car, that didn't sound like an exhaust sound, it just sounded like a TON of air, seriously like a jet taking off. wtf would that be?

Yes a BOV sounds different depending on the amount of pressure it's releasing. My Tial BOV makes a higher pitched sound above 10 psi than the normal low boost Ticka-chaw!
In regards to the EVO, that's the sound of big ****ing turbo. Mine and Andy's GT30s make that noise. It's pure sex.

Induction noise writ large is a beauty indeed. I've had the privilege of hearing that noise from an Rt12 that had been Dyno'd at a hair over 740 at all four wheels. I damn near wet myself.

All I hear is my engine and the turbo spooling. It makes a whirring noise as it spools, but I can't hear any air dump over the engine.
