Rep Power: 326 Quaife LSD Update
Well, I can now confirm that the Quaife LSD does actually fit the d17 tranny with ring gear bolts from a Honda Fit. I won't be installing the new tranny for a few weeks but I will revisit this thread once I do and confirm that everything works.
I'm really not worried about it. Everything went together fine so there should be absolutely no issues at all.

Yeah, the tranny is basically brand new. It came out of an 04 with right around 30k. The guts are all in perfect shape and the diff bearings as well as the 3 main seals on the tranny were all replaced so it will be good for a beating. That and a brand new flywheel, action clutch and pressure plate, moog ball joints, tie rod ends and urethane front lca bushings are going on, basically the entire car is getting freshened up.
I can't wait to see what kinds of 60' times it pulls with slicks. Gunning for 1.8's or better. With the retune, I really think better than an 11.5 will be attainable. Time will tell.

I pulled the motor and tranny this weekend. Cleaned and polished up the tranny. I intend to drop the new motor and tranny in next week. No huge rush, I want to take my time and do everything perfectly.

Hoping to get the new motor and tranny in this coming weekend. I went ahead and reinstalled the lower control arms and brakes, and fitted the ss brake lines up front. Throughout the week will be small things like bolting on the new flywheel and clutch, mating the tranny to the motor, putting on the head, so everything should be reinstalled next weekend. Then I can start breaking her in.

Confirmed. The quaife made for the fit works with a d17 tranny using fit ring gear bolts.
I haven't gotten on it or anything but I ran for initial 15 minute break in with new motor and tranny and had no issues. It goes into gear and everything seems perfectly fine.
For those who've been waiting on me to see if it works, you now have your answer.

So last night I decided to bleed the brakes and go for a test drive. I was putting the front wheels on and noticed that when you turn one wheel, the other one turns as well. Definitely wasn't used to that. So I took it for a 10 minute spin and drove it in this morning. Absolutely beautiful, the tranny is as smooth as butter.
