Does your transmission affect spool time?
I read somewhere just a minute ago that if you install a lightweight flywheel, it will take longer for your turbo to spool up. The explanation being that the heavier weight of the stock flywheel increases load on the engine thus making your turbo spool faster....
This sounds completely ridiculous to me... however, since I am always searching for the truth, has anyone ever heard of anything like this??
Just wondering, I just placed an order for a fidanza flywheel earlier today and when I read that, I was like, "what...that can't be right....damn but if it is, then I would be bummed because I want to go turbo."
What does everyone think?

All that flywheel does is provide a contact surface from the crank to the clutch. The axles, tires, and road are where load comes from. That's why when you tune on a dyno, its important to tune again on the street for driveability because load conditions change.
