I still haven't fixed anything...
Yes... all of my bitching since July and nothing has actually changed on my car. However - over the weekend I found my E-Manage support tool cable so I can finally start tweaking my map a little. My question to the masses here is what to do about my misfiring at idle.
I have no CEL's and I can't hear any misfiring any time other than idle. Not free-revving, not under acceleration, not under constant load. Just idle. I don't have a wideband O2 sensor, so I don't really know if I should be adding or subtracting fuel. Any suggestions on getting rid of this?
But more importantly.... after 6 months of have a misfire at idle, has that been seriously hurting anything? Like am I destroying my motor? I have been DEAD BROKE and drive 70 miles a day to get to work.... leaving no money or time to address this problem. Thanks to my fully built bottom end - I'm still driving.

W/O a wideband it's a guessing game as to what your air/fuel ratios are ar idle. Could be plugs, could be lean misfires, etc. We have to get you a wideband my friend before you start tweaking ANYTHING.

Best thing to do if you have no money is to pull your spark plugs and have a look at them. How are they gapped? If they are whitish colour you are too lean. If they are filthy blackish coated you are too rich. Not the best way to tune but it will be an insight as to what is going on.

I know that I never adjusted the gap... they are the 2 stop colder iridiums from Dezod. From what I remember they should be gapped to .030 or something like that? What's the right number? I forget the system for numbering spark plugs... ha ha

.030 is about right on the plugs, that's what mine are gapped at. Ron's suggestion of reading the plugs is a good idea barring buying a wideband, but I wouldn't **** with any gross adjustments to your maps without a wideband. You will need one for either the AEM or the PCS if you go with that.
