can this be done?
A friend of mine can get me an h22 head if its possible to fit it on a d17 block. Is there any way this could be done and, if so, what modifications would be required?

No it can't be done bolt up pattern is completely different. plus the pistons from the h22 are huge in comparison by Honda's standards to the ones in the D17. so in theory you would have to bore out your d17 block to fit an H22 piston so the head matched up right. plus there is a bunch of other stuff you would have to do just to get it to work. If you could actually get it to work even though it is almost physically impossible it would probably cost you over $20,000 to $30,000. And you would probably also get laughed at by any machine shop you tried to take it to to get the work done. sorry

two different engines completely.
if you didn't know, if you put a decimal point between the two numbers on an engine code, that is how many liters (big) the engine size is...
EJ25 - 2.5 L K20 - 2.0 L
H22 - 2.2 L F20 - 2.0 L
D17 - 1.7 L B18 - 1.8 L
