Rep Power: 256 Help with AEM F/IC fuel/ignition maps (updated)
Dear fellow members, I need your help,
I'm upgrading to AEM F/IC and SRT-$ injectors (577cc).
Today I've downloaded AEM's set up software, it doesnt look very complicated.
The question is, I cant read or comprehend maps or initial set up (well at this time).
Can some one help me please with these 4 maps and the little set up screen?
(It will help all others too, when the'll be getting theit F/IC)
Thanks a lot!
ILIA

I was able to download and read AEM F/IC manual from AEM electronics foerum. It does explain a little bit on how to do the inital settings (pic 1), but the maps (pic 2) not realy any help there.
The main problem is what kind of values I have to enter in to the map (and where) to ajust, lets just say, ignition?
P.S. I belive ignition map is the one in the borrom right corner.

Its rpm vs. load. You have to datalog and reference your a/f value for that rpm and load breakpoint. As far as ignition goes, going to be difficult to tune it for power without a dyno. Best off taking it to a tuner with a dyno.

Increase the values on the fuel table under the boost load breakpoints. Like I said, you need a wideband to log what your air/fuel values air at a given rpm and load. Just take it to a tuner and save yourself the headache and engine damage. If you don't understand basic fuel mapping, you probably shouldn't be attempting to alter the maps yourself.

I see your point, for sure, I had no plans to tune it with out a wideband, I would of been pissing in the dark.
I've ordedred AEM F/IC and along with that I've also oredered AEM UEGO, so I'll have a w/b as well...It should help me out a bit.
At the same time, I'd like to learn new thing about engines and tuning.
I'm sorry that my questions are kind of dumb, but this is whole new ball game for me and I'd like to learn, just like most of the guys on this forums.

I understand bro, but I've done an extensive amount of work and research and I wouldn't be fully comfortable tuning a piggyback without a dyno. And street tuning is too dangerous and too much hassle, not to mention you have no idea where your timing is or needs to be tweaked or where you're making power or even remotely close to how much you're making.

Secondly, if you do not have a load bearing dyno, there is no sense in tuning your fuel maps because once you hit the streets, the values will be off. The street load displacement is much more than just the inertia it takes to spin the drums on the dyno.
