Having A Problem With Boost Pressure.
Having A Problem With Boost Pressure.
Ok , If You All Dont Remember I Have A T25 Bb Tsi Kit. It Has A Internal Wastgate. I Repaired All My Leaks And The Boost Gauge Went To 10 Psi . Im Confused Its Suppost To Be Internally Wastgated To Be Low Im Sure. So I Disconnected The Hose From The Turbo Housing And Ran A Vac Hose From The Wastgate To The Vac Manifold I Have A Reading Of 15 Psi Now. Know I Did Cap The Hole At The Housing With A Brace Threaded Plug. Im Not Sure What To Do Right Know.any One Have Ideas.
Re: Having A Problem With Boost Pressure.
How much boost do you want? You need a boost controller. You have to understand how a wastegate works. With no pressure enering the wastegate housing to keep the spring from compressing, it will only open at a set pressure, let's say 5-6 psi. When you install a vacuum line from the intake manifold with nothing in between, you're putting pressure on the spring to keep it closed longer. Now, the spring will only hold so much pressure before it compresses and opens the gate but at that point, with manual boost control, you will be maxing out the wastegate (probably around 15 psi.)
Pick up a little turbo xs manual boost controller and put it inline with the vacuum line to the wastegate and set it all the way low, then slowly turn it up a few cranks at a time until you get your desired boost pressure.
Oh, and as far as the port at the end of the compressor outlet, you can leave that capped. If you don't you will leak boost pressure from it. That fitting is there for electronic boost control which would be controlled by a standalone or factory turbo car's ecu.

If you still have problems with the emanage after the tune with 440's I say ditch that and get PCS XFC if you don't want to spend the cash for AEM EMS or KPRO. The PCS has been tested to idle SRT 4 injectors with no issues which are like 527cc or something like that. I believe dudeitsmatt is using that on his setup now bc he plans to run high boost.

With my TSi t25 I've ajusted the wastegate arm. Just unscrew it all the way and turn it in back to 2-3 threads it should set you to the WG min of 6 psi.
