E-Manage keeps crashing??!
E-Manage keeps crashing??!
I'll start by saying I bought my E-Manage with a turbo kit off a memeber from this site
So the guy doing my turbo install calls me up today and says my car won't start anymore, and he'll call me back when he figures it out
About an hour later I get a call saying my E-Manage keeps crashing, that it needs an update. He said he'll try to contact Greddy to see what's up
My question is, is my E-Manage no good? Would it make sense an outdated version would crash? Anyway to fix it? Or do I need a new one?
thx for any help

Re: E-Manage keeps crashing??!
well me being a computer tech and a ECU being basically a computer....im a relate the ECU to a Computer. ECU's dont crash by themselves, either there is a hardware problem which is unlikely cause if there was the ECU would be completely shot or there is either some kind of software issue that the ECU does not like, update the files and see if that helps, the updates might patch some bugs, if it still crashes then you know why the member was selling it.
Or it might not be the ECU itself, might be that the wiring is ****ed up somewhere

Re: E-Manage keeps crashing??!
I wouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly. There is a firmware update for the E-manage necessary for it to function correctly it seems. See what happens when your installer updates the firmware.

Also, there can't be a software issue with the ECU. The E-manage is a "piggyback" fuel computer. All it does is alter signals coming to and from the ECU, small voltage changes.
