actually that is my idea also You could supercharge or turbocharge it and make the same amount of power or even more than the stock k20a2 while spending about the same amount you would have laid down for the a2

You can't use the new si motor bc it's drive by wire throttle system engine code k20z3 I believe. I think he means k20a3 as in the hatch si 2002-2004 and I never knew those motors were so cheap. Good luck.
yeas the a3 well the guy was ganna use it in a ek but he endedup dropping the project and i askedhimhow much we want lol he said 1k so imagetit i mean i want the a2 but for 1k and having only 8kmiles on it i would have to be stupid to pass................................like what could i do besides turbo to biuld the a3 to be like the a2

On a regular day, at a regular price, I wouldnt even touch that motor. But you know, that is a really good price. you could have a shop instal it, along with a few extras, and still come out on top. In fact, whats the guys contact info that your talking about... I'll "check it out" for ya. haha. Go buy it dude- as long as it isnt blown or hydrolocked, or any of the other deaths of a motor.
they say that motor is not true ivtec, but it is a great upgrade from 125-160 hp. They run around from 800-1000 for motor, tranny, and ecu. I would only buy that motor if you plan on turboing it.
Do yourself one better and just buy a used k24 long block for around 600. then pick up the tranny, ecu, etc. It will be good for boost and if you decide to put a k20a/k20a2/k20z1/3, you'll already have the engine there. IMO the
k20a3 is pretty useless nowadays. Sure it will be an improvement over your
d17 but just get the k24, it's a very good engine overall and a good block for boost and k24/k20.

ok say i get the k20a3 (im am ganna get it for 1k great deal yes) is there a way i can change like the cams or anything to biuld it up to be say a k20a2 or maybe a k20a if so.. would it be cheaper to buy the k20a2 or biuld the k20a3 thanks for the help

get the motor. You can do basic bolt-ons I/H/E and with a kpro and get around 160-170whp which is about the same as a stock k20a2 would dyno. Then build for boost later you can still use the kpro.

shoot whats the price on this man?? i wanna get a new motor!! i want the k20a2 but its gunna cost so much. i think it sounds nice to get the a3 and build it up. Does the a3 still require the axle conversion like the a2 does??
