ok im thinking about buying the k20 that comes out the si for 1k it comewith trans too would to beworth it...... and couldi make it as fast as a k20a2 please give me feed back

actually that is my idea also You could supercharge or turbocharge it and make the same amount of power or even more than the stock k20a2 while spending about the same amount you would have laid down for the a2

You can't use the new si motor bc it's drive by wire throttle system engine code k20z3 I believe. I think he means k20a3 as in the hatch si 2002-2004 and I never knew those motors were so cheap. Good luck.

yeas the a3 well the guy was ganna use it in a ek but he endedup dropping the project and i askedhimhow much we want lol he said 1k so imagetit i mean i want the a2 but for 1k and having only 8kmiles on it i would have to be stupid to pass................................like what could i do besides turbo to biuld the a3 to be like the a2

On a regular day, at a regular price, I wouldnt even touch that motor. But you know, that is a really good price. you could have a shop instal it, along with a few extras, and still come out on top. In fact, whats the guys contact info that your talking about... I'll "check it out" for ya. haha. Go buy it dude- as long as it isnt blown or hydrolocked, or any of the other deaths of a motor.

they say that motor is not true ivtec, but it is a great upgrade from 125-160 hp. They run around from 800-1000 for motor, tranny, and ecu. I would only buy that motor if you plan on turboing it.

Do yourself one better and just buy a used k24 long block for around 600. then pick up the tranny, ecu, etc. It will be good for boost and if you decide to put a k20a/k20a2/k20z1/3, you'll already have the engine there. IMO the
k20a3 is pretty useless nowadays. Sure it will be an improvement over your
d17 but just get the k24, it's a very good engine overall and a good block for boost and k24/k20.

you can swap the head but thats like an extra 800-1000... you can also put k20a2 cams if u want too

get the motor. You can do basic bolt-ons I/H/E and with a kpro and get around 160-170whp which is about the same as a stock k20a2 would dyno. Then build for boost later you can still use the kpro.

Pick up that motor. Fellas on honda tech are getting dyno proven 199whp A3 motors, with just K-poo, Type-s Rockers, and cams.

that 2k loan is called a credit card....apply for a credit card and hoping ull get atleast 4k for the credit line and get O% APR FOR 1 YEAR!!! how sweet would that be if u end up spending about for 4k all the entire swap.

so u have 12 months to pay 4k so thats 333$/month.

not too bad, no interest, no droping 4k in 1 week.

Swap parts alone will cost a few grand.. so no.. a K Swap will not cost 1k.
