ECU reflash proplems

Hey there 7th gen owners..have a small problem...i called a import gargage and they said i had to go k pro for when i swap my type s motor in my civic, reason being is cause i need the VIN from the car i got the motor from, the key, and the ignition,...is all this true are is he pulling my leg....thx for the help

All of that is true in pieces. You'd need paperwork from the car to get the ECU flashed by the dealer to work with your key. Kpro eliminates the immobilizer. Or, you'd need the door and trunk cylinders as well as the ignition for the car the motor is from and you'd use the Acura key. Never heard anyone try to do it this way.

I hope you actually have the Si... If you don't, then most of your gauges and crap will not work because the Si is different than the coupe and 4 door models. The Si has a K engine (prob the worst K ever made) and all the other obviously have a D. So I'd think it's a major risk to try and get that to work.

u can go to a acura dealeship and get the key reflash i tryed that but the ppl in the acura didn`t know what to do and they didn`t ask for the VIN from the engine if u lived in a big city try that before the K-pro
