550whp FTW!!!

I figured I would drop in and see how my D17 brothers are doing.

My new toy is a 05 GTO with STS turbo kit. Still running stock block and pushing about 8psi. This beats the hell out of my SF/DH Racing D17 that only made a good 250whp.

My old car:

awesome nice upgrad though gas mileage must suck though
My D17 was daily driven at 8psi w/200whp and weekend 12psi for 250whp. I was running stock block and tranny. My rods were begining to knock so I parted out my car and traded it in for a truck.

The GTO is actually an Import. The car is actually a Holden Monarro from Australia re-badged for Pontiac. Thanks to technilogy I get 25mpg on the hwy and about 18mpg in the city. Under boost it just sucks.. Realy.. I will dump over 1/2 tank in a weekend when I am having fun being a boost-a-holic.

p.s. E85 is cheap race fuel 105 octane if you know how to tune for it.

I will soon have methanol and a better tune for at least 600whp at 12psi. Lets just hope the LS2 rods hold better.

What's up meatlooker. I guess me and the Z will have to do some catching up. I'll give you a call next time I head south that way.

How far are you from the 1/8th mile track in Navasota? I need to work on my 60'. Traction is as bad or worse than on my FWD honda. I will turn my boost down and we can have a slow race. Street tires on narrow rims own me.
Give me a call.

your track record isnt looking good with cars..
-you almost blew up the civic
-you blew up the 240/silvia conversion
-for some reason (hopefully you didnt blow it up) the skyline is outta comission

Now you have a beautiful turbocharged GTO. Please don't blow that up. Hell you make enough money to afford this expensive happen, why not build it and put down 1200+ hp?

Skyline sat at friends shop while I was in Iraq. After I came home we got it running, but it had some problems. Engine was ripped apart and is just recently put back together. As soon as it gets some tuning it will be up for sale to pay for a built LS7 block and more toys.

The Skyline is a grey market car and too hard to find parts to be a good daily driver. It would make a nice drifto car for some one who has the money and time.

I wanted a fast daily driver that I could get in the security gate at work with.

If you need money go to Iraq with KBR or the many other contractors over there. They pay big $$$ to go play in the sand for a year.

The 240 Silvia blowing was my fault. The wastegate hose came loose and I over boosted. It was my expensive beater and I did not build it right. I sold it with blown rings to finish building the Skyline.

I know eventualy I will bow the LS2 block. When that happens I hope I can convince the wife to let me put the LS7 on the credit card.

I just did a search and saw that people are still messing with DH Racing. I just want to clarify that they Fawked me hard. I had planned on a built block, paid in full and ended up trading in my car before I even got the block back from DH a year later. If it was not for DH I am sure I would still have my Civic.

STAY AWAY FROM SF/DH RACING....

I partly agree. They look too much like a Cavalier. I was waiting for the Shelby GT500 to come out and when they were selling for $40,000 above retail I gave up on that idea. I was browsing ebay one day and saw the GTO already modded with STS turbo kit. I could not pass it up. I only paid $22,500 for the car w/ 9,000 miles on it. Tell me what car out there can get you the same bang for buck. I love the looks of the G35 and Corvette. The C6 corvette is $45k and the G35 is $30k. The G35 would need another $10k in the engine to even come close to a GTO. The G35 is close to the same weight as a GTO with a lot LESS power. I dont want a 2 seater car so the vette is out.

I will not buy another FWD car for speed. I got tired of swapped CRX's and hatches beating my Civic. I even had a CRX w/B18 that was almost as fast as my civic. Dont get me wrong I still miss my civic. Nothing is better than beating a SRT-4 with a D17. I was taking out M3 BMW, 350z, etc..

Maybe when the next Supra is out I will part out and buy one. But I think it will come with too much hype and the price will be crazy. The Supra is a legend like the Skyline. We will see.

Not an Army man. Was at one time. Now I just get to play army with out the headaches.

If anyone wants some $$ and have some ***** go to Iraq and work as a contractor. You can make a min of $125k-$250k depending on your experience. Just google Iraq Jobs, Iraq contractor positions, KBR, tripple canopy, etc. They need bus, drivers, forklift operators, IT, food service, everything you would need to run a small city in Baghdad.

Can you guess what this was?

You can make $100k a year running an internet caffee in Al Asad Airbase in Iraq. All you need is some experience. Ask anyone who has been in the airforce and they will tell you the airforce takes care of their people.

I went for a little bit more money and ran around the country side. But it is not all bad. We even helped out some refugee kids along the way.

Does the war bother me? Yeah it does, it makes me upset that Americans are over there. But as long as they are go get your piece of the cheese. But if you go you might see some of this:

Man, I started to buy a GTO but chose the Si hatch instead. I usually stick with honda for the reliability. Nice set up though.
