350 whp k20a2 N/A
Me on the other hand, lack $3000 to complete my sidewinder kit, so I'ma built a new K24 consisting of : wiesco 13:7:1 pistons, ib i beam rods, K24a1 block, k24a2 head, rbc im, and spoon tb.
I'll let you all know what #'s it gets. I've seen some ppl on crsx and k20a built similar setups and only yeild 300 hp
pretty shitty, but I have no other option but to built this motor and collect $3000 in the meantime to finish off my turbo kit, meanwhile my other k24 I got for f/i sits and waitsI am not entirely shure that is true. That thread had a ton of mixed opinions and it sounded to me like the cams would still be available through authorized shops.
The reason that they did this was because of the Intake Manifold that they were making. Alot of people payed upfront before design was even completed, with the idea that if Ron could make cams that were far superior to any competing company then the IM would be the same way. The $ that was payed upfront for the IM was used to help fund the design (this and a ton of other $). Well come to find out making the IM was not so simple and the cost of production would not make it a realistic product. So anyone could imagine the problem when more than the $ payed upfront had been spent and there was no product to show.
Anyways the cams in the dyno are the K-10 cams and they are not streetable at all. I would say with these cams, bolt-ons and Kpro 300 whp would be a realistic number with a k20a2. The more steetable cams are the K2s and they are great cams for DD and power. People have made close to 250whp with these, boltons, and a good tune.
ppl are talking about 300whp, but the question though is 350whp... still unattainable. There are several ppl with upgarded cams, ecu upgrade, i/h/e, pulley kit, fuel rails and so on dumping **** loads of $$ into the motor... barely making 260whp. Sure there are very few making 300whp, but the $$ can be spent better with a turbo setup. Even running low psi can help attain 300 EaSiLy!
I am sure 350 whp would be no problem NA, but it would need to be bored out, then it would not be a K20a2. I personally would rather keep my a2 NA because I track the car and turbos are just not good for that application. Anyways I know the traction issues I have with 201whp, honestly turbo or NA anymore than 230-240whp is pointless IMO.
I would rather spend $1200 on cams that add 20-30whp and then dump $2000 into the tranny. From what I have experianced with this engine, the tranny is deffinately the weak point.
