Yeah and he shouldn't. Its a good alternative and will work but if I was selling turbo kits I would be a little more creative than that.

well lets see 40 bucks for a filter, piping is about 50 bucks, you need a coupler(which can be 15 to 30 bucks). So you are looking at 100+ more for the d17 turbo kit.

I had a similar problem.
I went to a NAPA store and picked a radiator hose with a tight 90 degree cut it in half and place it on top than I cut the original hose in half too and used the bootom piece then joined with a PVC connector.
Then you may use a 90 degree from a SRI and place the filter upwards.

Sorry I don't have any close ups.

nice pic, but yesterday i went to work on the new design of the turbo inlet pipe. All is going well and it looks like we have a good design going on here. I will post pics as soon as it is finished. People were wanting some show quality so we are keeping that in mine. As far as the lower radiator hose well funny thing is if you take the stock hose and just flip it around it works great. Just keep checking back or you can PM me for updates.

Thats a good point turning the hose almost worked for me.
But my clearance was too tight.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll get it taking care of, it just takes a little persistance.
I just insatalled a two stage nitrous and had some clearence issues as well but is taking care off, now I have almost as much torque as HP when I use it.
