Back from tune...funny numbers..

So 2 hrs on the dyno and my tuner was able to get my a/f between 11-11.5 under WOT

Running 5 psi of boost:

158 lb/ft tq @ 3000 rpm

78 whp

Long story short..i need to put in my exedy clutch this weekend...the minute i get out of vaccum no matter if its 2 psi the clutch slips like a bastard

Question: should i be putting in my 7LB fidinza aluminum flywheel or stay with the heavier stock flywheel?

Setup:

EL Mani (custom wastegate bracket)
T3 .42/.48 trim turbo
External 38 MM wastegate
Emanage w/ all harness
RSX-S injectors
Greddy Profec-B Spec II electronic boost controller
2.5" custom fmic piping
2.5" custom downpipe
2.5" custom exhaust with high flow magnaflow cat and muffler

and some other ****

Your using our EL mani?

Stay with the heavier flywheel. Get a new clutch and pound that power.

**** on the subject of litter flywheels...

Sounds like you want more inertia with a heaver flywheel because your turboed.

Would you want a lighter flywheel for a naturally aspirated engine??

If not when would you "want" a litter flywheel???

Dezod???

Thats what my tuner said when I asked him about lighter flywheel.
He just ended up installing Exeedy Organic clutch kit with polished stock flywheel. ($900 installed, polished and all parts included)
Works very well, I stay in boost between shifts and clutch holds well my 180wtq.
It feels like it will hold a lot more TQ. No sign of slippage.
I consider my Exeedy clutch as an excelent street breed for high-mild boost.

Have a dyno chart to post? HP is simply a mathematical calculation based on torque. (Torque x RPM) / 5252= HP So even with 158ft/lbs at 3k that means your making 90hp at 3,000RPM. The dyno measure torque and just gets HP by this caculation. Where are you getting 78 as a peak whp number?

Actually both those numbers were around 3k rpm..there was no peak as the clutch would just slip under any kind of boost with a full load on the rollers

gonna throw in my exedy tomorrow and resurface my OEM flywheel a bit lighter

a heavier fly wheel keeps the engine revs up when you shift i e keeping you in boost

It doesnt matter if your clutch was slipping or not...math is math...if you made 158ft/lbs @ 3000rpm you made 90whp...Do the math

One of those numbers has to be wrong, or something is off.

Correct, no argument.
However, there is a mechanical issue that comes up after certain RPM level.
This person has weak clutch on the car.
What was happenins is that engine was accelerating and at about 3000 rpm it made 150 wtq and 78 whp (I dont have # in front of me), shortly after 3000 rpm clutch started spinning and engine could not accelerate further.
What we see is only what happened before clutch let go.
Nothing was measured after 3000 rpms and that's why #'s look funny.
