04 em2 k20a3 swap wiring help....

Quick cliff notes:
- k20a3 (rsx base spec) swap into 2004 civic
- greddy turbo
- kpro can't communicate with pc
- ordered a new one still same problem
- won't upload and downloading from Kpro results in jiberish file

Well we tried the new kpro and still no communication at all. so now we're down the path of finding a wiring issue. Is there any differences in wiring between 04-05 civics and 01-03 civics? we followed the diagram that xproductionz had in his DIY. Does anyone have links, suggestions, or any other swap wiring diagrams? I honestly don't want to use a wiring conversion harness because they're exspensive as **** and the re-wiring should have been relatively easy.

there have been issues with certain laptops not being able to read/communicate properly.. the other factor might be that the usb cable provided might be the culprit... try changing it out..

also before u even try to upload/download make sure u can read the ecu LIVE... things like the rpms and the TB postion like if its 100% open or closed and everything in between... also make sure you have the latest software from hondata... when i got mine the disk they rpvided was like 2 versions older than the one they have on there site... and so forth... try a different laptop if anybody else has it...

got the latest kmanger, tried it on a laptop and PC, and tried a brand new USB cable. we haven't tried starting the car yet but would the ecu still read TB position, etc with it not started? from what i seen when i was in the shop there was absolutely no communication at all between both the Kpro's we tried. We're literally stumped at the situation. I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one to swap into an 04-05.

yes the key is turned to on postion. i didn't know about a light in the ecu itself. is the light flashing when it communicates to the car itself? i'll inquire with the shop guys tomorrow. they'll be re-checking all the wiring just in case.

do you mean plug it in as in the usb cable to the ECU or plug in the ecu to the car?

edit: oh yeah and the guages did light up and the door did chime.

italy273 is an unknown quantity at this point
You should ask quick silver asbout the wiring in the 04 civic. He has a K20a2 swap and is using Kpro. Here is the link to his K20 swap http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=223651
