question about a swap

i have searched but couldn't find an answer. I will be deploying to Iraq in a couple monthes and when i come back i will have enough money to swap a k engine. My question is, how reliable are engine swaps? I'm talking like 2 or 3 years down the road. What kind of problems will i run into. I'm still debating if i want to swap or just trade in my car. It all comes down to how reliable a engine swap is.Thanks.

i guess it all depends on how you use the engine and what you do to it and also the parts you used for the swap like the accessories needed for the swap and how they hold up

if you don't open up the motor, then the motor is equally as reliable as it was when you pulled it out of the other car. If you do it right, then you shouldn't have reliability issues. People tend to have swap reliability problems by messing up, skipping things, ******* on it, or building the motor badly then ******* on it.

I make a lot of long road trips once in a while going back home and stuff. That's what i was worried about. It would suck for the car to die on the way home or coming back.

from what i heard is cars with engine swaps start to have problems like 2 years down the road. 1/3 of swapped cars die out.

heh how is a swap any different than a stock engine?

it's not, unless the person who installed it did a ****-poor job doing it.

swaps last forever. far superior reliability than that of a turbo kit.
