So then you had about 10 minutes of fun for that $500 + fill ups in that entire year?
I had 2 years of fun with my turbo kits.

There have been a few who have claimed to hit 13's on a 75 shot but just never proved it but anyway...I've never understood why a lot of boosted members on this site hate on nitrous users...I used nitrous for a while and loved every bit of it even though I'm boosted now......oh and btw...I'd put money down that any 75 shot fed 7th gen with a decent driver would take a boosted stock block 7th gen on the street.... because like I said before nitrous is fast in the low end....why dont you compare some 1/8th mile times with some of those who use the juice?

Edit: and the rush you get when you beat someone on the street doesnt compare to the track because you rarily get to race who you wannna race when you're at the track

compare 1/8 all you want

i dont hate on nitrous users. I dont like the "best bang for your buck" saying because it lasts only a few minutes per bottle. And its funny that using 1 bottle a month is considered a lot.

nitrous is a short term FI substitute for drag racers.

it seems the only reason you dont like it is because the 7th gen is slow without it, but what about all the other cars who do have it and are fast even without it....face it....nitrous is bad ***....and everyone who HAS used it says the same thing.

edit: and its not a short term thing for drag racers because there are tons of turboed cars that have and V8's too...

i have used it. I just sold my 85 vette that had it on it. It was a 12 sec car on kuhmo ecsta 711's (not V711's) without the nitrous.Sure, it is fun when you use it. But it Sucks without it.

Its like highschool sex....... You want it soooo damn bad, but when you get it, its over soo damn fast that you dont know what happened.

before my vette was built, it was a 15.0 sec 1/4 mile car N/A.

i raced my dad at willow springs, him in the vette, me in the civic. He would be ahead of me at the beginning of the race and through the turns, then would stay ahead on the straight. Without the nitrous, it was zero competition for me. The first straight, i pulled ahead. And by the end of the second lab, i was probably about 5 seconds ahead.

Thats a funny analogy, but I never complained too much when driving without it though because atleast the car was reliable and I had the speed on tap whenever I wanted to use it....I'd ride all the time with the bottle open and with a flip of the switch ***** would be toast...I beat quite a few the street which is where I got most use out of the kit...I had a lot of fun with that ****, thats all I can say....If I still had it I'd probably use it on the dubb I have now..

i just cant see it as the best bang for your buck for any reason other than short term drag racing.

im not saying it isnt fun. Im just saying that it can only be used a few times, then it has to be filled back up.

it is cheap. for a while. But it is not constant.

I think that turbos are the 'best bang for your buck' because when it comes to quantity of use, it towers over nitrous because you can use it all day, every day. Just pay for gas.

I bought my nitrous system with a promise to my parents I wouldnt' use it on the street. I guess all I need the power is when I went to the track even though I only got ot use nitrous at the track 3 times last year hence the bad times you see in my sig haha. I'm sure I can hit 14.2's next year maybe 13.9's wiht the wind to my back haha.

Just out of curiosity, do you remember what your 1/8th mile time was?

dude you should try to find that time slip or try to find some other 75 shot time slips from you or someone else so we can compare those 1/8 mile times...I'm curious to see.....my time slip didnt include the 1/8th mile time unfortunately.

So I get up there and the guy stages real quick so I take my time. I hit the 2nd stage button, and I hold the ebrake and rev up the car and I look up and the tree is already on the 2nd light. I got too excited and didn't take my time and dropped the clutch at like 2700 or so RPM, my car barely spun at all and got traction at like 3000 and I hit the button at 3500. Heres the slip:

Weather was mid 80's sunny and moderately humid. I can't tell you how mad I am right now. Can some track guru tell me what I would be running if I had a 2.2-2.3 60 foot?
ok, 75 shot of nitrous.......................... 9 psi of boost

60' : 2.520......................................... 2.042
330' : 6.485....................................... 5.754
1/8 : 9.661........................................ 8.795
MPH : 77.56....................................... 81.455

thanks for that man....I was curious...I wish we had someone's slip with a better 60ft though....nitrous is hard to handle coming out of the hole because it breaks loose like a b!tch...I even had a hard time with it....my best 60ft was a 2.2.....if you can find someone with a 2.0 60ft I think the 1/8 mile times may be suprising....

lol I wouldnt doubt it....I had drag radials in my video of me on nitrous and if you watch it you can see just how hard traction is to get a hold of...

Ok, 75 shot........................................9 psi corrected from 2.042 to 2.520 60'

60' : 2.520......................................... 2.520
330' : 6.485....................................... 6.232
1/8 : 9.661........................................ 9.543
MPH : 77.56....................................... 81.455

The biggest thing is the MPH difference. nearly 4mph more on the turbo car.

that doesnt suprise me though because you got a good launch and he didnt...that can easily be the reason for it I'm betting....we're talking about a half second difference coming out of the hole...I would think that means a lot.

So you could say, If you were running 8 psi, I could probably hang with you?

Edit: When you had your previous setup?

In the 1/8th, probably. In the 1/4, its a possibility

It would definately be a drivers race.

yeah but it does determine how well you're going to accelerate if you think about it...a good launch as opposed to bogging off the line...you're gonna get going a lot better with a good launch ofcourse...and if you think about it, I bet if you find a 75 shot with a close 60ft, the 1/8th mile time will be close if not beating your time, and you're running 9psi on a well built set up compared to a 75 shot thats not even tuned...you out power that 75 shot but the 1/8th will be close I'm thinking and I think the torque that nitrous gives in the low end is the reason for it which was my point all along...nitrous is quick in the low end....and its easy to catch a lot of people slippin on the street.
