ok, so i found a k24 on ebay with under 75k on it. dude is in tennesee, im in GA. i want this in my car. except i have never done a swap. the motor is only 875. i can do this for ALOT cheaper than a turbo.
someone please tell me what im looking at.
how much would labor be to install this thing? i mean how many hours. cause i know labor varies between shops. anyway, here are my q's
1. will i need a new cluster if i get this swap? or are some gauges enough?
2. new tranny if i decide to get the k20a2/k20z1 head? how much would the head run me?
3. new axels too?
4. should i get an type S ecu? or stick with a k24 ecu?
5. can i get a reflash on a k24 ecu?
6. which tranny should i grab? is the k24 accord tranny the same as the type S besides the 6th gear?
7. any other thoughts or suggestions?

the swap is gonna run you up about $6000 at least if you get it done at a shop.

what happened to your stock motor anyways? it seems like you should do more research before diving into this head first without knowing too much about whats required...

2. no. u need a k20 tranny either head u use.
3. yes. either m/t or a/t base rsx or 02+ civic si.
4. get kpro for it to run properly ... depending on which k24 u got, it won't run properly. if u get a k20 head, kpro is REQUIRED.
5. only on the tsx ecu... which I'm sure that's not the motor you're getting.
6. get a k20a2 or k20z1 tranny.
7. more info on what comes with the motor ... which motor is it ... and you're gonna need a shitload more parts to be able to put it in.

k24 subframe won't work.

eh, remember, nothing in your stock engine bay will fit on the k24.. it will start to add up... especially when you have to buy alll sorts of little parts...

1. get a type-s cluster
2. type-s tranny (check ur local junk yard) and try to get ur trans misc parts then & there.
3. 02-03Si (4 lugs) or type-s(5 lug) axles, knuckles, brake cylinder, SS lines and new rotors/pads
4. K-pro regardless of wut head. LIke aznboysfr said

6. Type-s^^^ (6 speed)
7. keep K24 header, get Si subframe, Si radiator, Battery relocation, etc... etc

lets say that in the next few months ill be getting, oh say, around 3k cash. you think that will run me enough?
junkyard stuff is hella cheap.
i want to keep the 4 lug, so i guess ill get the hatch SI axels.
if i have to replace the cluster o well. if not, ill just use some gauges.
i actually found a shop for imports with a dyno near me. im gonna go over in a few weeks and talk to these guys about it. i also have a mechanic here that can do any swap i need. i need to compare labor rates. thanx for the help. im still open for thoughts.

get an esitmate for what you THINK it will cost then add 20-50% and that will be your final cost

to be honest, i want to do this to learn. i mean, when i wanted to learn about ICE i put a system in my car. when i wanted to learn about cars in general i bought one and did all the work. i want to learn the technical stuff. like tuning. i mean literally tuning on a dyno, swapping motors. stuff like that. when i get my s techs, and sway bar, im gonna learn how to install it all. to me, the information that i learn is invaluble. so yes, it will be a bitch. but to me its worth it. all of it. so when i actually do this, im gonna help the mechanic in every way i can. im pretty sure he won't object, since i am paying his *** for it.

i would get the K24 and put a type s head on it higher rev's, plus it gets rid of the fly by wire crap. but thats just me

im gonna need the crv ECU. unless the accord one is the same. cause its says on the hondata website it can be used with the crv ECU. it don't say anyhting about the accord
