H22 + boost = good, or trouble?

so it looks like im going to be getting myself a 2001 prelude, and i was told that i should be looking at an RSX-S instead because the engines arent stable for boosting or something like that. im a big time newb to the world of tuning, and just getting into it recently since i only started getting enough cash recently...blah blah anyways. is it looking for trouble or was the guy mis-informed?
anybody here have a prelude with a turbo and running into troubles?

I've heard from the horse's mouth that H22's are tricky to tune. But depending on the tuner, his experience and your management, the engine is capable of alot of power if you boost it.

I Might be able to help you out. I've got some buddies that do a lot of stuff with Preludes. Mostly older than 01 but the info should still be relivant.

Depends on what H22 it is. A lot of the JDM H22a motors have Nikasil lined cylinder walls, not cast iron cylinders. The thin aluminum walls dont like much boost. Some of the USDM ones have iron sleeves but the cams arent anywhere near as good from what I understand. I think there are a few different compression ratios as well. My buddy and I built an H22a turbo. We had the block sleeved though. Lower end built as well. Stock cams and intake manifold. Car makes 451whp and 398 ft/lbs of torque peak. Thats using a cheap ebay header, the car is getting a new manifold and retuned to 500+ on 93 octane. BEAST!!! Get HONDATA!!!!! Like an s200 w/Boost Option run on a P28 ECU should do the trick. www.jdmfabtech.com The accord page.

you hav eto tune it well if going with higher boost. but the H22 is a good engine because it is completly soild block. The F22 is not a good block for boosting because of the way the clyinders are held into place, you would have to get a float ring. but the H22 is a screamer of an engine.

i beg to differ, there are lot of people that boost the f22s in accord because they had such low compression and had cast iron sleeves
