Exclamation Does this make since?

Hey fellas what's good!! I've been a member for maybe a month and look on this sight almost every freakin day(even two or three or four times) this is my first time posting and i hope i don't jack it up by asking something that has been ask. I've searched and searched and have'nt seen it so here goes........I was wondering would it hurt my car if i were to mount a intercooler and use it as a intake until i connected my turbo. I just was wondering if it would damage my car or what it be like having a big a$$ cai. I'm goin to eventually connect it to the turbo but for now i just wanna feel like i'm makin progress. Any feedback would be appreciated!! Big Ups to all you guys!! If andyman reads this whaddup this is the dude wit the black civic you meet at sprockets on Ft. Hood!!!

an intercooler would not make a good air intake. It is very restrictive, and it would take a lot of piping. You would lose quite a bit of power.

Just mount the intercooler, and use a normal air intake.

how much time are you saving by installing the intercooler now? its not a complicated task. You also dont know where your intercooler plumbing will fall and will have to route your plumbing based on where your intercooler sits, just wasting more time. Plus, you will obtain poser status with having a intercooler with no turbo.
read up on how intercoolers, turbos, and engines in general work.

i actually mounted my FMIC and built the charge pipe from the TB to it and ran this way for maybe 2 weeks untill i had time to tear down compltely with the turbo install. I just stuck the filter on a small pipe coming out the FMIC that pointed back in behind the bumper. It did reduce the HP some but it wasnt much. My whole turbo install i did in steps so that the final tear down was for as short of time as possible.

W3rd. I agree with everything stated here.

Hey, wuddup man, I'm surprised you remembered me. Man, you have to see the car now. It's a long ways from where it was when you saw it last. If you need any help with anything, hit me up man!

yeah if anything just mount it and use your intake. I wouldn't even do that because when you install the pipes your gonna have to uninstall the bumper again.

Thanks alot fellas i'm pretty familiar with how turbos work i work on one of the biggest OSK KOSH turbo diesel set-ups the Army has everyday freakin day. But they are'nt as complex as our cars can tend to be. I really appreciate the feedback. I know alot of people on here post the same question over and over. But i think i'm too far away from a complete custom turbo so i'll just hold off on the intercooler. One more question!!! I 've looked on the dezod website as well as others an have seen that the only manifold that allows us to keep our a/c is DEZOD what about the HKS. Thanks!! (Yeah Andy my boy with the silver TYPE-S said that he seen you on the side of the Road broke down sorry to hear that man i got rid of the T25 i had put in because of that crappy manifold "GOOD JOB OBX "

I had to trim a fair amount on the bottom inside edge for my FMIC to clear

tfnaaf you have the HKS manifold right? Does it allow you to use your a/c and p/s. I had a t25 with a apater plate made for a obx (thought it was a good deal) and that setup was too big keep rubbin on a/c lines and banging on front engine mount thinking about gettin HKS but don't wanna run into same problem.
