the problem is putting all the stuff back into the block. labor is a bitch. and if this guy don't know wtf a 150 shot will do to a stock motor, im gonna guess that he don't know how to work a complete d17 motor.
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

my friend is running a 150 shot like every day. and his engine never breaks. but thats only cause I am a ricer and have no idea what a nitrous kit or a turbo really looks like.
I smell a rat.
The risk of blowing up your engine while spraying correctly is pretty small.
If you were to spray a 150 shot into the d17 you would blow the intake manifold or fry a piston at least. Even with direct port injection something really bad would happen with one or two sprays.

DING DING we have a winner
There is no way in hell that someone is spraying a 150 shot on a D17. The guys on corvetteforum don't spray a 150 shot unless they have forged internals, and I guarantee you that a 6L V8 can handle nitrous better than the mighty D17. Get us a dyno graph and a video and we'll be a little more receptive.

my friend has a 02 hx with i/h/e led nozzles, and a aluminum wing. He runs a 200 shot of nitrous all day long with no problems, just has to double clutch.
What kind of kit does he have and what does it run at the track. We all know 150 is impossible for stock, but 100 is possible for maybe a spray or two if you have enough fuel and the coldest plugs u can find.

Heres the deal. A stock sohc d16 or d17 lower end will usually handle, consistently, at MOST a 100 shot of properly tuned direct port nitrous. This means properly retarding ignition timing, having proper a/f ratios, the right plugs, and to be safe, a $500+ progressive nitrous controller to avoid hard hits. Not to mention that the stock D17 intake manifold is kinda thin to be tapping nozzles into. So figure a new custom manifold or a Y8 manifold conversion. We havent changed the clutch yet though, stock clutch is poop in a matter of time. After all that work and money you'd have been better off to tubo it. So yeah umm if you or your friend is spraying a 150 single nozzle shot you'd better get ahold of a couple spare motors. Your average stock sportscar is capable of handling only about a 125-150 shot and they are made to be beat on.
i can belive it has lasted....i was spraying 75 for a long *** time on my 04 (like a bottle a day) and my compression is fine. I made sure i used 93 and increased my fuel a few percent on my vafc2. I would love to do a comp test on your buddies car to show him how slow his car is going to be when its NA again. 150 is a little much but if your not retarded when spraying it should be fine for a while that is.

"Now me and the mad scientist have to rip apart the block and replace the piston rings you fried!" OWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Hmmmm i smell BS
