Get rid of your cat, get colder plugs (Denso IK20's), Put in a rpm window switch so you don't hit rev limiter when spraying. I could tell you more, but these are some basics.

Well, I can tell you the things I put in my car. In addition to the things above, I got a purge kit, bottle heater, nitrous pressure gauge and a wideband a/f gauge. The reason for the heater is to keep the bottle pressure at 900psi or bottle temp at 85 degrees F. If the pressure is low due to a cold bottle, you'll inject a rich mixture and if sprayed long enough, the CEL (check engine light) will come on. The wideband a/f gauge will help you fine tune the jet sizes. You don't want it too rich or the above will happen or if too lean, you'll cause internal engine damage over time. Just to give you a headsup, there's quite a bit of wiring to do when installing all of this, so don't attempt it if you're not comfortable with wiring. That's pretty much it, unless anyone else has anything to add?

If you want to be safe I would personally go with the Zex wet nitrous kit. I had it, loved, and it's supposed to be one of the safest if no the safest kit. You can also get a purge and bottle heater with it for a little extra cash.

Man its been a long time since I've been on this forum I recommend NGK BKR7E's and NX wet would be the best imo just dont spray with pressure above 900psi...you might end up with a blown HG like I did.

Did you have the correct fuel jet in there? That shouldn't have cause that, should it?

Yeah I did...I dont know if the weak HG's are a problem anymore on the later years of the 7th gen but I know I was one of a few who did the same thing while using the juice. I think the cause of my HG blowing might have been a combination of it being the weak pre-updated HG (ishino head gasket) and running the juice with the pressure set too high (around 1100+psi) I had my head gasket replaced and never got around to using nitrous again because I had sold my nitrous kit later on, but if I had to do all over again I would not raise the pressure any higher than 900-950psi unless some reinforcements have been made like arp head studs and a better head gasket and/or a better fuel set up (fuel pump & fpr) I must say I do miss the days of driving the civic with a loaded bottle...unsuspecting victims would always become easy prey with it.

So, would I be better off keeping the pressure at around say 800psi just to be safe?

nah I think you're safe with it set at around 900-950psi...I just wouldnt try going over 1000psi like NX recommends(1050psi)....atleast not 1000psi on these civics anyway. Keep in mind your pressure is going to read higher if you have a gauge tapped in near the solenoids than the gauge on the bottle.

The pressure will read higher at the solenoids? Are you sure? That's were my sending unit is for my gauge along with the pressure sender for the bottle heater "cut off". I thought it would read lower. Maybe I'm wrong.

yeah it reads higher for some reason...dont you also have a gauge on your tank? The reason I know this is because I had two fluid filled gauges...one next to the solenoids and one on the bottle. The one at the solenoids always read a little higher. As far as that heater switch and sending unit go...I stopped using that after a while because I got tired of it and just straight wired the heater to the switch...just gotta keep an eye on it if you wire it like that though.

Naw, I don't have one on the tank, but maybe I will later on. My gauge is the electric type. I have it mounted inside the car on the piller. I like my heater pressure sender. I set it to cut off at 900psi. I checked the bottle temp with a little temp gauge used for gas powered r/c cars. It read 84.9 degrees F at 900psi, which is right on the money. It took maybe 20 minutes to get from 600 to 900psi. I guess that's pretty good being it was pretty cold outside that day.
