why is it that the base rsx and civic si have
9.8:1 compression
2 intake lobes and
1 exhaust lobe
puts out what about 160hp
then why is it that the jdm type s is
9.8:1 compression
has real vtec on the intake side of 3 intake lobes
1 exhaust lobe
and puts out the same hp of 160...
so the jdm type s has real vtec on the intake side yet has the same hp as the USDM... why waste all that money????

Specs are right there, plain as day on the honda japanese website.
A K20A2 head on a K20A3 block is going to make more potential power that a jdm type S motor due to the 3-lobe on the exhaust. It would be cheaper to go that route too.
drivetofast/josh spent $1100 on a complete k20a3, minus subframe. $900 head and you have something better than a jdm type s swap.

Good question though. Why did you waste $2800 on a jdm type s motor that is rated with the same HP as the base rsx/civic si?

I don't not believe you, but how do you know the block has oil squirters?
well ... I guess 1/4 mile times will only tell. Again, I don't not believe you, but there have been a lot of people who bring out inaccurate or false information...

how does 1/4 mile times have to do with the oil squirters?

1/4 mile doesn't have anything to do with oil squirters. it was an unrelated question.
I don't want you to open it up. I believe you ...
but as for having 11.5:1 compression ... that's something that I still cannot believe. both of us know jdm type s motors don't come with 11.5:1 compression unless someone swapped out the pistons, which I highly doubt would happen.

alright, i just read all 3 pages and id liek to know Xproductions, your K20 as the 3 lobes instead of 2, so does it engage in Vtec (i-VTEC) or VTC just like the usdm 160hp k20? and also do you have to lose a/c and power steering to fit in the K20?

i was skeptical soooo
as for my motor having 11:1 - 11.5:1 compression is what gets me... remember that they did volume tests on the block... volume tests determine the type of compression unknown pistons have... which came up to be 11 something... but for a volume test to be that much off from a 9.8 to a 11 something is far to off

Nothing works better than a Chris except a Honda.

Hmmm... I always thought the JDM type-S was just the base RSX here... I guess I've been proven wrong.
interesting... like everyone else I guess, was the extra lobe/cylinder worth it?
