Rep Power: 0 AEM stand alone
So is the AEM stand alone engine management system worth the $1,400 over the e-mange blue or gold? I was thinking of investing in it for my turbo setup but if emange will work just the same why would I spend the extra $1,200 on the AEM. Let me know what you guys think thanks

Rep Power: 273 I had a safc, emanage, and now the AEM, It cost that much because it is worth every penny and more. the only downside is that you also have to pay probably 600+ to get the thing tuned.

Rep Power: 261 the AEM is actually not that bad to tune. If you learn how to tune with the 2d maps, you can usually get the car pretty close on 5-6 pulls. Then its all fine tuning from there.

Rep Power: 273 tuning is the easy part, getting everything to function as it should, the idle takes a little time, it all can be kinda tricky though. If its n/a and you dont change any sensors or need to set load breakpoints and stuff like that its do-able if you know how to tune and have a wideband. It would be very overwhelming for someone who is just getting into it for the first time. I had someone else do the fine tune on my car. I got it to run and drive and just sent it out just to be safe.

Rep Power: 273 Yeah you really need a laptop to go hand in hand with it, you can pick one up on ebay like I did for a couple hundred that will run it fine though. If you get an ems, get it with the uego wideband setup, its worth the extra money.

Rep Power: 273 I just wanna let everyone know that I HIGHLY RECOMEND NOT trying to tune yourself unless you have a LOT of experience with these type of programs. Its not something you learn as you go, one forgotten thing or mistake can really destroy a motor pretty easily. They say it in the manuals and it shouldnt be taken lightly.

Rep Power: 0 Emanage gets the job done for the money. The aem ems has so many features that you can't get with a piggyback or other standalones without spending twice the money.

In theory, yes....then again, a lot of theories work on paper, but not in reality. Just a thought.
Obviously you will not control converter lock up or shift points......

Rep Power: 0 They have been released and are shipping. Check in with your sales rep to see when your backorder will be shipping. I know that allot have already shipped and AEM is approaching sellout of the first batch.
