sounds like idle control valve. has it thrown a CEL? i had this problem and cleaned the throttle body out really well with tb cleaner in a can and using a lint free towel. reset the ecu and it was good to go.

No CEL
I believe the intake manifold gasket is leaking, ill still check the Idle control valve though.

we just found two more problems...leaking oil pan and leaking oil drain line from the turbo....

Anyone have a access to a 1997 honda civic ex oil pan let me know.

I cant believe all this trouble we are having with this thing

we had to go buy an autozone oil pan thats ****ed up cause it didn't have the grouve for the oem gasket...they ended up using gasket sealer....were they supposed to wait for that **** to dry? (im at work while they were all doing this)

and now the oil drain line is leaking mabye its not tightened down enough? its actually hitting the screws to the mounting bracket on the oil pan..

May be too much work, but the best is to take off oil pan and oil drain line and re-assemble it back the right way. That should definately work.
And blown TB or intake gasket will have affect on idle...
Intake gasket cannot be re-used, so buy new one.

Your idle problem is probably a vacuum line, not IAC. Check where they tapped into the vacuum source and make sure everything is secure and nothing is unplugged. Make sure to check the pcv and the map as well. Your oil leak issues are probably due to the install of the lines, I doubt it's due to the products (except the oil pan). You may want to consider picking up an oem pan from honda, I wouldn't try anything else. And, yes, you should let any sealant dry before starting the engine to make sure it drieds.

either vaccum line, TPS problem, or MAP sensor problem.

Make sure the map sensor is ok.

my wifes car did that, but it was because there was a small piece of debris in the IAC.
