I was talking to a mecanic today for my d17a2 head swap... he refused to do it because he says it will break down later on. He says itll break down for sure because a d17a1 base insnt meant to be mixed with a V tec

Rep Power: 267 Man dont listen to him, he probably some old man that drive a jacked up truck and hates on hondas. Yes you can do the head swap, no it wont break down in a week(as long as its done right) Thats probably why he didnt want to do it is because he dont know how. I sa do it yourself its easier than you think.

Rep Power: 0 the only thing that scares me of doing it myself is the timing belt ...
if that goes wrong itll cost a lot of reparation. but as long as it doesnt break down its good .. never hapened to anyone who did the swap?

Rep Power: 255 the only reason it might break down that i could possibly think of is because the d17A1 is designed to run lean, and the A2 really isnt. But if you put the A2 on and tune it you should be good anyways. hey why not try it.. i might got a head laying around for you to buy if need be.. ill have to double check on it
