Turbo Gas Mileage???

Ok, with the spike in gas prices lately I have been reconsidering boosting the vic. I am aware my gas mileage may decrease, especially on boost. I have searched and could not find any one post that focused on this topic.

I am curious to see what type of gas mileage I could maybe expect if I were to boost my civic? I am not looking to go crazy with the boost either, just enough to have some more fun, for now at least!

Thanks to all!

It depends on the boost level. If you just wanna have some fun I'd say like 5-6lbs of boost. You'd prob lose like 2-3 mpg. Maybe not even that. If you think about it your really only using boost at around 3000-5000 rpm anyway and that alone causes shitty gas mileage. Mostly you'll be cruising at around the 3000 rpm range. The gas mileage should remain the same.

I get good gas mileage, and am hitting boost a little more than occasionally. Probably like 29-34 mpg. It sucks putting 91 in, mostly cuz im broke right now. Right now I have 200 miles on my tank, and its at 1/4. So I should have another 1-130 miles out of it. 28 bucks to fill up though, is just ridiculous. i hate those bastards controlling gas/oil.

Awesome, that was the answers I was looking for. Drive conservatively most of the time and I should be ok is what I'm getting from you guys. Haha, still not looking forward to 91 octane but I guess it's a small price to pay for some extra performance. Better than buying a new car that uses premium and only get's 24 or so miles/gallon, imo.

i dun think a stock escalade is that fast... 345 hp gets it from 0-60 is 10+ seconds, so a boosted civic should easily leave it in its wake

heck power to weight ratio alone on a boosted vic should make that escalade no contest.

Thats what I am thinking. It is still much much faster of an SUV than I woulda ever though. That thing could easily run 14s Im pretty sure. Especially when the transmission was slipping, it hauled some serious ***.

I am confident I could eat it up, the Escalade never threw me back like 8 or 9 lbs of boost does.

BudDyLeEBoOsteD has a little shameless behaviour in the past
2k1Civic17"Gabe (its a little bit right),... If the Escalade raced a boosted 7th gen, out the line (7th gen would walk it *alive*) due to power to weight ratio... but if both cars started out of a roll at like 60mph, it would be a close race..
