could be a noob question..

I dont know if this been covered but if you install a turbo kit do you have to have all those gauges inside your car? like the boost controler and turbo timer and other stuff?

well, boost controller and TT are not gauges.

One guage that you need is a boost guage so you know how much boost u are running. Other guages that are recommended but not needed are ...... narrowband or wideband A/F (wideband is better), oil pressure and EGT.

There are certain gauges that you will want for acurate tune/dyno. I know that boost gauge is one of them. If some one else could update me on the others.

The turbo timer basically a life extender for your turbo. It keeps you car running for a certain time so your turbo doesn't recieve a shock from hot to cold. Everyone has there own view on what gauges are needed. but with research you can drawn your own conclusion.

Turbo Timer's arn't necessary, unless your a dope like me and forget to leave your car running a little. What happens when you drive your car hard and then you turn it off right away, the oil sits inside the turbo and "cooks." I'm sure you get the idea, a Turbo Timer keeps the car on, thus circulating oil through your turbo to cool it down. Not a necessity but nice none the less. Your definatley going to want a boost gauge, and your definatley, if your going to tune it yourself (but I recommend one anyways) want a wideband gauge. Having an EGT gauge (Measure exhaust temps) is a good idea because that can tell you if somethings big time wrong (a la the temperature is getting ALOT hotter than its supposed to). Just some food for thought =)
