Please help with gauge installation
Since I know most of you guys are running turbos therefore you must have gauges. I'm installing Defi gauges (EGT and Oil Pressure) and I need help. I know where to connect the power and ground wires but the ignition and illumination wires I'm lost. I don't know where to connect those two wires. Please help me. Thanks.

You can use the power wire on the cig lighter for ignition power. For dash lights, you can use the stereo harness or the dash cluster. I can't remember exactly which wire it was, I'll look later. I think its blue.

I used the harness on my gauge cluster (stock one). I used the same power wire for the Reverse Indiglos, tapped it into there, and grounded the other on a screw holding in the gauge cluster (where the Reverse Indiglos are grounded) Worked nicely the first try, that way, they only light up when you turn on your headlights. You'll waste the bulb otherwise, they say they dont last too long I guess. Im not sure. They talk about preserving the life of the bulb in my Autometer instructions. So dont use a constant 12v, you only want them on when you turn the headlights on.

In the 01/02 cluster, its the red/black stripe wire in the blue connector. Towards the center of the plug. in the 03+ cluster, you're on your own.... they changed the connections. You may be able to match wire colors, just test it before you permanently wire anything in.

and you should get rid of the oil pressure gauge. They have been known to fail, causing you to lose all oil, and of course causing major damage when that happens. So be careful. I have one, but it isnt hooked up, just filling up the 3rd hole on my pillar so its not empty. I wish I had a EGT gauge for right there. Sometime soon, Ill get one.

I was told not to install mine, by more than 1 person (not on the internet). I read before that they can fail on ya as well.
I have a boost, a/f, and need a egt gauge. i have a glowshift oil pressure, but need to get rid of it.

ummmm, I dont know, its a cheap gauge. Glowshift, it came with the pillar pod, and I havent dont much with the oil press gauge. I need another autometer to match my others. probably mechanical. It has a pressur regulator or sensor, and a few wires on it, probably to light it up though, so probably mechanical??
