PCV Clogged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PCV Clogged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What would be an easy way to check if your PCV system is clogged???
I keep getting told that this could be another reason my car kinda does that lil hesitating choking sound and then lets that bluesh (oil) smoke come out the exhaust.
A friend of mine had the same exact problem on his 99 Civic,
* smoking while on idle *only* *
It did make him replace his Turbonetics turbo but, he sayd the cause of it. was that clog he had in the PCV.

I don;t think it would be the pcv. If it was the seals in the turbo then there would be smoke coming from the turbo itself or some oil in the charge pipes. check the pipes for oil, but im gonna have to go with the crack head or head gasket. try doing the compression test on the engine when it's warm.

Yea.. when smoke comes outta of the exahust, you can c a bit of smoke coming out of the TURBO.
Another thing, I seriously doubt is my head!. I think I would've blown up my engine by now. I've been driving like that for about 5-6 months now!.
I actually did a cpl of test's.. When I drive with out going into actual boost
Not spooling the TURBO) my car does not smoke at all.. No matter how long I drive. BUt as soon as I start hittin it hard. thats when the magic happens...
As of right now, Sorry to say, but i dont care about my car.
I am thinking about trading it in, for another car!
so sad so sad!.
(I luv racing, racing has always been great, I believe I am great driver,
But i think the reason, I want to trade in my car is, 1. I should've never made my daily driving car a racing car. 2. I' aint no mechanic, but for the ppl who supposevly knw about cars, and go to school for th

yea it sucks using your daily driver as a race car but look at all those people that drive their race cars on the street... IE supra's porches and srt4's... yea they might have problems every now and then but the reason they do so is because they understand that once you start building up a car with parts that weren't necessarily put there in the first place by the factory, they're gonna run into some problems one way or another.... instead of bitching about it, grow up and realize that maybe building up your at this time isn't the thing for you at the moment and once you start to understand how everything works and you have the proper funds and patience to fix whatever problem comes, maybe you should hold off on building up your "race car.."
i don't mean to be so blunt but don't fvck up your car and start crying about it on the forums and telling people that it is a big mistake... we're only here to help and inform... not hold your hand when you already built the damn thing and blew it up...

lol,
Its so funny how you can say Blew up the engine.. lol
I didnt knw blown up engines were drivable
*** any how.You're comparing Supra's and Porsche's? lol
d00d, for one.. the ppl that own a Lambo or Porshe, dont always knw about engines, half of the time, they dont even knw what kinda engine they have, they just buy it cuz its fast and expensive... *I DOUBT THEY THINK* Hmmm I am buying this car, knwing thats its gonna f*** up down the road..
2nd. You just compared all the cars that come from the factory fast,
If I had a Porsche, when that sucker blew a HeadGasket or whatever it is,.. You can actually take your car to the dealer, and they will take care of it!.
They dont void the warranty like we do!

if i had a porsche and modified it in some way to try to draw more power out of the car and somehow blew a headgasket on it, i would bet that they would not warrenty it... no way... like most car companies, it would not be beneficial to them to fix a problem that was caused outside of the normal wear and tear... meaning... if i were to strap some nitrous tanks on my porsche and decide that i wanted to break the land speed record and in the process blew my headgasket up, there would be no way in hell the dealer will "take care of it"
i appologize for saying blowing up as if you blew your motor up... from the looks of things, it seems that you might have "blown" the seals on your turbo or "blown" a headgasket....

Yea d00d!
I talked to JESSE over at TSI, he just sayd send
the Turbo in and he would send me a brand new one back,
I've only had the turbo for about a year.. I dont think i;ve beat my turbo
up that bad that I could've killed the seals that quick..
What i think happend was, when I 1st got the Kit, and I installed it in my car.
when I had 1st turned on the car, I could'nt tell that i had an (unesessary bolt)<< *I guess just coverd a tiny hole or something*. BUt I never had heard this leak till one day I looked at the engine while the car was on. and i heard this big Manifold Leak... Right behind the turbo.at the manifold. there was a hole, where i guess a bolt was missing. I was driving like that for about 2-3months, with out noticing. So that could've been the reason they went bad, --maybe some dirt or something got sucked up trough there, I dont knw-- but i welded a bolt to cover it.. and then another day.. When I raised my PSI's to like 8.5. the damn Clamps that hold the Intercooler piping and the Turbo together snapped off!... <<< I was in the interstate when this happend..So I couldnt just stop. I had to drive all the way till the next exit, and clamped them back on.. so that could've been another way, something could've gotten sucked up there!..
Anyhow..
Dont you wish, you could be like them old Gizzers that say....
I OWN A FERRARI.. haha
If you go and ask some of em how many liters he has in his car . hell probably say... HMMMM *Thats tricky* * I think i have 2, one for acceleration and one for deceleration*
hahah
