Can someone put together a comprhensive "Do's and Don'ts" for nitrous use?
I've been researching nitrous systems and heard alot of different rumors about nitrous. It would be helpful if someone with alot of knowledge about it could put together a "Do's and Don'ts" list of nitrous use to answer questions such as "Can you really not spray in 5th gear?" and "What RPM range is too low to spray". I'm curious, as I'm sure other nitrous noobs are as to how and when to spray, between shifts, RPM ranges, so on and so forth. I plan on installing a kit tonight and wouldn't even know where to start when I get it out on the street. Thanks!!

It's not safe to top out the car while spraying so stay away from 5th gear. Try not to spray too many times in a row. Make sure you remove stock cat and get a high flow or gut yours, Nitrous destroys the packing and causes it to break down and clog the exhaust and screw up your car(Happened to me). Try not to spray at low rpms, keep it at 4 and higher. Make sure that you do not bounce the rev limit while spraying! don't launch on spray if your not good at it yet because those rpms will climb fast and catch you off guard. make sure the arming switch isn't on when you rev your engine is neutral, you should never let the wot switch activate and spray while your at idle.

and as far as the Nitrous FAQ's section, I've read the whole thing, and while it gives some great information, doesn't give a whole lot of info of how to really operate and drive with it on a daily basis...so that's what I was looking for...I appreciate the link to the FAQ's, but I've read it and it doesn't quite answer all the questions I have...

Nobody should listen to this guy when it comes to nitrous. He knows absolutely nothing about nitrous because based on his input given regarding nitrous in the present as well as the past, he has provided no valid points to support his discredit and negative point of view toward the use of it. Just another young hardheaded kid "young dumb and full of cvm" as they say....
Dont spray any less than 3k rpm and never lug the engine at the same time. Spray in 5th at your own risk. I've done it a few times and so have other members with no major catastrophies, but thats not to say what couldnt happen under the right circumstances. Always follow manufacturers suggestions and recommendations in their installation instructions. Use the right plugs always and keep them changed frequently. Do not under any circumstances use your nitrous if the bottle pressure is too high. Over torque head studs by 5lbs. if you wanna run the 75 shot. Those are just a few of MY recommendations.
IMO the the NX wet, because of it's design, seems to the best working meaning "safest" and NX is also known for having the pretty much the most reliable solenoids. NX's design allows you to run the kit as high as a 75 shot safely without any additional fuel management. I personally wouldnt fool around with any nitrous kit except nitrous express when it comes to our 7th gens. The head of my engine is off my car right now to prove its worthiness plus, SpdRcrChk, has an old dyno chart showing good a/f reading on a 75 shot using an NX kit with no tuning to prove it as well.

but, how much harder on the engine is running turbo and n20 opposed to just turbo or just n20? i'd rarely use the n20 if i were to get it... prolly only at the track...and i'd go with somewhere round a 50-60 shot
im guessing it wouldn't be too much harder on the engine considering your already getting more fuel into the engine with boost.. anyone done n20 and boost on our 7th gens or know what it'll do if i do it? thanks
I couldve swore...isnt there a member on this forum named "boostedciviczex" or something that had a turbo/nitrous setup? I'm not sure if he actually ever used the nitrous along with the turbo though. To do both on a stock bottom end is probably tricky and is taking a big gamble IMO.

im doing the turbo and the internals install at the same time. fully built bottom end will be installed so i can rund high boost. i also have a pnp head and other things done to the head. all precautions are being taken for ym turbo so i can run high boost daily and not 6-8 psi. i wanna hit 12-15 psi daily and maybe more on certain days. we will see.
