this is something that i dont think MANY people are aware of, glad u brought this up. first of all which rods are u using(brand) bc i have to do the same thing, the new rods are so much thicker than stock ones that they hit the lower end of the sleeve

Crower Rod Specs
B93740B-4 D17A Civic 5.394 1.890 0.780 0.748(19mm) 0.900
ML93738B-4 K20A 5.473 2.008 0.780 0.866(22mm) 0.900
it is possible that we may be able to use k20 rods (with some modification) .. The Crower rods I was pricing were about $670 then pistons would be another $400 ... If it is possible to use the shelf k20 rods, then I could get a set of Eagle H-Beams for $325 BUT all the money I saved would go to custom pistons ... I don't know a ton about rotating assemblies but from what I understand a larger pin for a turbo setup isn't a bad thing... And the piston height would obviously be shorter due to the longer rod ... the only thing I'm confused about is the Big End Bore - would custom rod bearings be the answer??? its all just discussion at this point and if we see it doesn't work them I'm going with Crower rods and Wiseco pistons ...
why not??? people do it all the time on all motor engines to cut down on piston weight ... lemme look for a minute and I'll dig up pictures ... and thats funny that you put that rod tag up because I printed that and took it to the machine shop today ... thats how we started talking about the different rods that are available ... we looked at the b18a rod first because its the same C-to-C measurement and BE Bore but the BE Width is wrong ... like I said, its just something that we're talking about but it would be another option if it worked ... Ohhh, and before I forget, C2i0V0i1C, that was real cool of you to post up that rodtag when you did originally ... I saw it posted a long time ago when you first put it up and thought it would help someone at some point (didn't think I'd ever need it - lol) ... Rep points for you...
