I was talking to a couple of Ecu reprgrammers and they none of them were able to reprogram an OBD2 ecu. But one suggestion that I heard was that they do make a conversion harness that would make the wires OBD1 and then run the D16 ECU on it. But isn't our vtec diff. then the d16? Don;t we have e-vtec or somethin? Correct me if Im wrong but I belive there are alot of systems that are dependent on newer settings in the ecu that would not be able to function on the D16's ecu. am I right or might this fix work?

Your gauge cluster would not work. The multiplex is different, which is why AEM doesn't have a P&P ECU out for our cars yet. OBD1 and OBD2 use similar sensors, however with the coil on plug ignition on our cars it would be difficult to get it to run correctly.

yeah good luck with that one, there are harness adapters for OBD-2 to OBD-1, they are like $100 from Wepon R, but not possible on our cars because we have the individual coils that are controlled by the ecu. So if you do this the car will not get any spark, and you would need to redo your dash wiring as well. So, until someone figures out how to break OBD-2 code its not possible. To get a reprogramed ROM in our cars.

yeah im gunna be going standalone soon, it will be a wiring nightmare lol It really sucks that nobody will help us. those bastards

I don't know why companys don't make **** for our cars. I mean you see more of our civics out there than you see any other car. It's just horrible. I hate Hondata, they suck.

Matt over there at hondata is either sick of us bugging him or he's just a ********. He seemed very rude in his email reply. I don't think they are the geniouses they originally apeared to be. If keihin can design our ecu (they make our whole fuel injection) its definetly something that can be hacked. Its just a matter of them following the easiest money trail till it dries up. By the time they get around to helping us D17 guys most of us will either have other solutions or would rather suffer than give them *****'s any of our money. (sry for the harshness) hehe
