02 wideband sensor
Hi how is everyone. I'm getting my turbo on my car within a month or two. I just wanted to know if anyone of you guys are running a o2 wideband A/F gauge. I was looking at the AEM uego gauge but I was watching Two guy's garage on speed channel this morning and they showed the wideband commander made by Dyno jet which looks really good. I have 4 Defi gauges (EGT,Oil Pressure, Air Fuel and Boost) but I was told by my custom turbo kit builder that the A/F gauge is useless unless it's wideband. There are a few manufactures out there but I just don't know which one to get. Which one do you guys recommend. Thanks for you help.

If you want it mounted in your car and not to use on multiple cars, just get the UEGO gauge combination from AEM. It's the best, and has a good and fast sensor.
If you want one to use in your car and in other people's cars, get the Innovate LM-1. It's not a built in with a gauge, but it's what I have so that I can tune other people's cars as well as my own.

M-300 is all of the above with a simple digital display and can usually be had for $310-320 new.

I agree with mirage that the aem one is good - BUT, it has a few faults (besides the price).
The O2 sensor is expensive to replace.
The PLX devices wideband, which I run does now have a gauge they sell as well that rivals the AEM UEGO. OR if you already have an autometer, they sell a voltage conversion module which will convert the signal from wideband to narrowband for use with the autometer - which is what I have done. Works great!

Yes, I am more than a little biased on this topic. I make a very careful attempt to not get into pissing contests about who's is better etc... I am not on 7th Gen as a mouthpiece, I am here as the owner of a 7th gen. But, I think that's obvious by the sheer number of AEM related threads that I don't post on.
I think that the ony thing wrong with the LM-1 is that it is not something that I would put in the interior of my car. It looks like a 60's Star Trek prop. I can just see Spock holding this thing with the sensor stuck into the dirt and proclaming "Fascinating!" Thats not the image I want for the interior of my car, It's a personal preference.
I think that the ONLY displays that you dont have to make excuses for are the AEM and the Dynojet. All others simply look like science projects or halfhearted attempts at a cheap gauge. Take a few minutes and really look at the displays offered. Look at the faces, the bezels, the color choices and I think you will agree.
But, I think the Innovate is probably just as accurate as any of the others and would be just fine for tuning any car. I just don't like the looks.

I completely agree
I hide mine under my seat. I was just poking a little fun.

The LM-1 was NOT designed to be permanently mounted in a car. It was designed to be a portable, cost effective, accurate, and most importantly to use the cheap wideband sensors- for people doing street tuning. This is exactly what I use mine for, I move it between my cars for whichever one needs some checking/tuning that day. I also "rent out" time on the wideband to people for street tuning. Make some good money doing it too. There is a gauge sold by Innovate that looks damn good and allows you to hide the LM-1 and all you will see is a gauge, but by then you're kinda defeating the purpose.
The suck thing about AEM is the cost of the sensors. I can get LM-1 replacement sensors for $32 retail at a VW dealership, the AEM sensors are at least twice that.
