I see alot more posts about turbo problems than I do about nitrous. There is just more that can go wrong because of all the parts. With a NOS kit, all you have is a bottle and some lines going to the manifold. But if you don't know how to use it (like me), then don't get it or learn first. Obviously spraying in the wrong gear will make you redline and blow the motor. It's all about knowing how to use it right.

The Evo MR doesn't lag as bad as the regular Evo 8. If you're waiting, buy the Evo 9 when it comes out next fall. All the same features as the current MR, but without the limited quantities and high price.
-Edit....
I'll be buying an Evo 9 or a Supra TT next late fall/winter. Got a new high paying job lined up in FL.

ok lets say you went turbo. 4k
nitrous 650
engine with strengthened internals and other supporting mods ~3500
ability to run more nitrous and wail on the turbovics? priceless
who cares if the power isnt there all the time? you only need power when you race

WERD!
Except, The turbo is going to be about 5-6k after everything is said and done, not 4k, and I dont think the d17 is worth the money spent on internals.

I've been boosting for 8 months now, i run 9psi daily and have hit 13psi and i am still on my stock HG. I am gonna do a compression test soon and re-torque the head for added precaution.

That is b/c boost is addicting and ppl get too greedy and turn up the boost. Just about everyone that has had problems have been running 10+ lbs. In due time with this much stress, something has to give.

I don't think his busted. I know that he was running 9psi and his pressure switch for the alchy injection quit.
But running high boost doesn't really mean that u will blow your HG. Many ppl blow theirs at low boost b/c of detonation.
Subarus FTW I do NOT miss my civic

I keep forgetting that a turbo on a nissan is almost entirely plug and play, espeically with the Jim Wolf ECU...unplug stock ecu, plug in jwt, boost happy :]
either way, im not a drug dealer and i cant afford to blow 5k in a turbo. nitrous sounds nice but knowing me, i will use it up alot since i got ricing on tue/thurs/fri.
oh, alot of the racers here in dfw are shady & i might get my turbo kit jacked. I know certain ppls with b18's and b20's around here that almost everything in there car is HOT.

1. Live at home
2. Don't date girls, only meet your needs with them
3. Only eat Ramen noodles
4. Sell every bolt on you bought before you go turbo
4a. - Don't waste time with bolt ons if you truely want boost (saves time)

I dont have the topgear vid anymore, but i saw one where they pitted an sti against an evo on the track. the evo actually ran better lap times than a friggen zonda. the scooby was nowhere close.

Research and learn. Yup the MR has a slightly and I say slightly better suspension...but thats it. Oh ya, I saw that video too...the Spec C EJ20 came in first over the EVO.Sorry.
btw, mod your sti and youll be lucky if you dont get sky high egts. thats apparently a problem on the wrx boards.
