turbo made in supercharger?

turbo made in supercharger?

wow yes can you belive it, was talk to a kid i know at work and he took the hot side of the turbo and welded a pulley on it to make it super charger, honestly i don't think it will sping fast enough to really gain any thing super but let me know what you guys think

yeah but they make a compressor super charger that has a clutch way different

cetrifugal superchargers marketed by vortech, procharger, etc use gear reduction to spin up the compressor to operation speeds... many more thousands of RPM than you would get by simply going direct belt drive.

also, by simply welding on a pulley I'm willing to bet that the rotating assembly is now so horribly unbalanced, even if he could get it up to operating RPM, the bearings would chew themselves to **** and force the compressor blades into the housing throwing metal shavings and chipped/broken blades into his intake tract.

All in all, great concept, **** poor excecution on his part.

They don't use a gear reduction, they use a gear drive to increase the speed of the impeller, usually to 60-70,000rpm.

what the heck do you think gear reduction is smartass. gear reduction is when you go from a big gear with many teeth to a small gear with few teeth thus increasing the speed of the second smaller gear with loss in torque. works just like the gears in your transmission bub.
