new thread about tsi...
how many of you have TSI kits? more pertant to my thread is how many of you that own one are satisfied in the...quality, performance, fitment, price and simply just the kit. is it worth the money?
i have one, it is not installed but without going into too much detail, i am having some issues. anyone have info on tsi customer service?
please dont flame, cause i think i have read most of the posts about turbo kits, and tsi in particular and am wondering more about the satisfaction on a whole rather than the comparision between tsi and dezod and sf. just want a sound off from the owners. thanks!!!

I have the TSI kit too...and I haven't installed it too. I keep hearing so many horror stories in the forums about the dang ICU that comes with the kit, that I'm just going to wait and get an Emanage system before having the shop put it on.
i have the tsi kit, upgraded turbo, and im happy, cant complain really. fitment was a lil of a bitch of other then that is a good kit. i got rid of the icu and have e-manage with all the haresness. i wasnt a fan of there icu. it was worth it. hope that helps.
I have the TSI Kit....
I didnt have a problem with anything. I've had it for 9 months now.
As of Installing?... I only had a few issues, with the Intercooler pipping, you gotta make sure you go step by step, cuz if you dont, you're probably end up thinking that It wont work.... <<< thats what we tought>>> but if you do it right, it should go in with ease.... Everything else is basically bolt on.
As for Fuel, I dont knw what kinda fuel system you picked, but that is a different story from the kit itself!

^^^
Some pics I had taken before,, doesnt really show the kit too much, I was trying to take pics of the rail.. But you can c the turbo and a bit of the intercooler I think..
TSI is a great kit. << its worked for me real good so far...
I ran 14.3 at 8 1/2 psi's....
I think I would've ran High 13's if I would've taken my back seat out,
and better tires!>
** Enjoy **

I installed it about 2 weeks ago. Its a nice kit, and installation took about 35 hours (one weekend late late late nights) and 3 guys working on it, others just chilling and drinking. Its not bad for fitment issues at all, just do it all right like stated above and it will go on smooth. The only fitment issue is the manifold on the top right side (a spot they didnt shave for ya), and a dremel tool worked perfect for it. a grinder would have been ideal, but a dremel did 100% perfect. Piping lets you KEEP a/c, as well as everything else. It is easy to tune, the unit is crappy, but works for about 5lbs reliably (cuz no retarding your timing w/the unit). It picks up and goes like hell, I am getting tuned tomorrow, so Ill see what it does for HP. Ill post up my sh** afterwards (at least the numbers, maybe not a sheet) for 5psi. I am very happy with the kit, and TSI were very friendly and helpful people to talk with. I got my new unit in likw 2 days after my other one was busted (got knocked around in shipping I guess?). Just make a tech day out of installing it, and have people who know what theyre doing and can stay for a couple days, or come back over. We Fri-6pm-4am Sat-3pm-6am. We fired it up at 4 am on sunday, and tuned it a few days later. I unhooked a pipe while it wasnt somewhat tuned. Its getting professionaly done tomorrow.
It picks up and goes right when you step on the gas though, in any gear, 5th is even pretty decent at 55mph.

TSI ownz me
I've gotten the hang of tuning the ICU, especially on wideband. The only thing i don't like about the ICU is that you can't really tune the AFR to STAY exactly where you want it. Meaning, if you wanna run 11s, you'll be doing just that, anywhere from 11.1 to 11.9s. No a problem though. With this type of expandability i've tuned mine to where i run 11s under moderate boost and moderate throttle for daily driving, mid 12s midrange for when i feel like opening up just a lil or when getting on the highway with a load of cars coming, and 13s up top to compensate for the slight lack of topend from a T25 (6k-redlind)
I would switch to emanage if i wasn't trying to build a motor, but......i'm satisfied with the ICU. (for now)

Sounds good. I'm just going to install it with the kit's ICU and hope for the best as far as tuning. Getting ready to move in a couple of weeks and my finances are pretty streched. Guess I'll have to wait to switch to the eManage.

My unit wont stop resetting on me. EVERY time I get in the car and turn it on, it resets. I want to beat it with a bat so f***in hard. You dont even know. I have wasted about an hour a day, and probably 20 hours of my life jsut in setting this thing EVERY time I get in the car.
I rewired everything yesterday, it should worked than, but NooOOOoo, its a POS. I still am in absolute love with their kit though. Just this damn ICU, its awesome that they offer emanage now. I wish I could get it, but need a clutch first.

Your supposed to use the ignition wire, 12v acc., and I forget the other one. maybe another power. The only thing that goes to the battery is the injectors. I tried a few different grounds. Where is a good spot in the engine bay to ground something. I have tried the battery ground, some of the others running around the engine (stock grounds), and nothing wants to work.
so the icu everyone is talking about is there black box (map unit)? or the thing that controls the 2 xtra injectors? cuz what i have is the second option in here. http://www.turbokits.com/civic_turbo...html#01civic17 the apexi stuff is what i will have. will i still have a problem or what?

wont reset on you, this is a personal problem. but you shoulda gotten the emanage. Dont run too much boost, especially in the summer, since you cant adjust your timing. Upgrade to the emanage as soon as ya can, i will be

Jeromie, if your going to use the apexi safc to control the stock injectors then you're going to run VERY VERY lean and make NO power. DC5 injectors and a modified fuel rail from dezod ownz you......

I have the same prob. it sucks. just dont turn the wheel more than once around completely when turning right., It sucks, but its enough to turn into the first lane when turning right. Left is fine. Otherwise, you need some custom piping done, to get the pipe to bend up earlier coming out of the IC. than route it a little towards the passenger side, and run it along top the wheel well to the other pipe. That will let you turn fine, and get the piping up higher off the ground. It could just be mine though that site a few inches below the front bumper? Does yours on the drivers side hang really low(the piping)?

Just watch your right turns, cuz, it can knock a pipe loose, and still grind it. Mine is ziptied rpetty far away, but I still cant make the wide right turns. I can still turn right into the first lane, thats all that matters.
