14psi on stock internals w/stacked headgaskets.

I want to get an awsome dyno now that I have my complete setup minus built block. So today I put in 2 stacked leakless head gaskets and torqued down the headbolts to 52lbs. The purpose for the stacked headgasket is to lower compression a little so I could up the boost. I ran around tonight at 14psi and no problems. I pulled the thermostat to keep it in the cool range and ran it rich with alot of methanol. I did compression test afterwards and it was good as new. Headgasket held fine.

Be sure to check back for an awsome dyno. I will run it at 14psi and be sure to take plenty of pics and maybe a short video clip. Soon to be the highest whp on stockinternals with dyno proof. Catalyst claims 300+whp but has no dyno proof of it.

If anyone is interested this complete kit is forsale.

nice. you wont be around 300 whp though. kevin has a 14 psi dyno and only got 250 whp.

i have dyno proof, but its mine. I worked my *** of tuning my car, and it was for me, nobody else.

Im sorry if that sounds stupid to you guys, but thats the way it is. And the car will probably never see a boost level that high ever again, so there is really no point.

Anyway, Guns...
Set some new records. Thats the kind of stuff we all love to see. Just dont do something stupid, like run out of methanol.

so if you lowered the compression to add psi...does that mean that the dx/lx with out the higher compression heads with vtec will be able to hold more psi?

Edit: BTW, I'm not boost saavy, just a beginner that is starting research cause i'm interested in boosting...

Without thermostat it runs cold. It was out the last time I worked on the car and never got a new one. I tried drilling some holes in the thermostat to make the cars run a little cooler. Works fine without it.

I checked compression again today. I have a little over 180 even on all cylinders. What are the numbers for others. Just wondering, want to see if how much the stacked headgasket lowered compression.

If it were to blow then a D17 block is *** cheap.

can't wait to see the numbers. I might try the stacked headgasket idea.

Pulling the thermostat keeps the car in a open loop, closed loop cycle... Not the best idea.... Might help a *bit*, but long term it's not the best....

i believe with 2 HG's, u will need a adjustable cam gear

OK had some good runs on the dyno. I ran 9-10psi and the 11-12psi. The owner convinced me not to run 14psi do to the fact that my injectors are maxed out. I was runing 14.5 a/f ratio and did not want to chance running lean. Word of advise do not rely on narrow band a/f gauge it should me extremely rich.
IN spite of running lower boost than I wanted I got some good numbers. The top dyno is the two runs and the bottom is a year of work. My base dyno and todays on the same page. It was a hot and humid day so in the winter in a dry climate the numbers should be about 10-15whp better. Texas gulf coast is not ideal conditions to dyno in this time of year. Rained that morning and was extremely humid.

As you can see this kit has great potential, Bigger turbo and piping should yield better numbers. Also I need RSX injectors. Stock injectors dont cut it. Was good at low psi. But up the boost and it gets scary close to lean. Sotck internals held fine and compression tests show my internals after 14months are fine.

Happy Boosting.

It would be a glitch in the dyno. No dips in power or fuel curve. Not to worry. Checked plugs and compression everything is running great. Just need bigger injectors and T3/T4E turbo.

Yup so the lower compression did not effect my power. The head and cam more than made up for that. I lost alittle torque from before the head and cam but gained aout 25whp across the board. The HP pulls hard at the top. Would be awsome if someone could find a way to bump up the rev limiter to lets say 8k rpm. NO drop in power and feels like it would just keep pulling. Cam is good and with higher rev it would be awsome.
