you should get a Y pipe. I have one that from inside the cabin I can flip a switch and the flapper opens up to an open exhaust or i can flip it again and run cat back. def. a nice feature when you need that extra 15whp to whoop someone.

it's not made for spec. applications it's universal. you have it welded on to your exhaust. It was given to me with a turbo kit i bought, pm spdrcrchk and ask her where she got it.

Yeah, I triple checked everything over, and than did it again. I didn't want to pay good money to waste both the tuners time, and mine......

To tell you the truth, I was completely surprised that it went so smoothly myself!

Congratulations. That is awesome. Our setups are very similar so I hope to see some of the same numbers. This makes me want to charge the rest of my parts to my credit card. I've been paying cash so far. What clutch are you running?

Yes and no. The dumptube was tough, but I'm screwed when it comes to the windshield washer bottle. There is no room for it. Also, the horn needs to be stock as well - no more air horn. No biggie tho...

Yeah - I think the ESC1 helped that out! When it senses 1 PSI of boost, it sends a mimic'ed signal from the primary O2 sensor to the ECU, allowing the A/F ratio to be tuned without the ECU overriding it.

As far as the headwork? Well, the ball is already rolling (well, beginning to, haha)....I bought a used head off of a member here for $150 shipped!! Its in really nice shape, even has the cam in it.

Maybe next year when I have more money to put into the car I will get the head done by either Exospeed or KMS...Really can't afford more money into this car until after the year, when the I actually close on the house (yay, homeownership!)....

****...........

What happens when something that is designed for 100 ft/lbs of torque high on the powerband gets a nice 200 ft/lb jolt around 3000 RPM?

That's right kids, I smoked the tires tonight pretty good (yokohamas) - but in the process of doing so (at 8 or 9 PSI) - pretty much wiped my clutch out!

By the time the tires were spinning, and stopped, the rpms were still up, but I was going nowhere.

Luckily it wasn't that bad. The car is still drivable, and I drove it home.

BUT - I didn't want to have to invest another $500 into the car until I could really afford it, looks like I all of suddenly HAVE to afford it! Time for a new clutch and flywheel.......

opto...good luck with the clutch. It was a b*tch to do. I did a flywheel/clutch upgrade when I did my turbo. Your probably gonna have to take some ic piping out to get to some bolts and the motor mounts. Have fun...lol.

Let's talk - I need money now that I just bought a clutch. I really don't need the cam....and just happened to get a great deal on a clifford intelliguard 850 alarm (the new G5 ones - its BADASS!).

Actually - I see ACT XTSS in my future, with streetlite flywheel. I'm worried that I am going to have a hard time getting the flywheel bolts off....Plan on starting this weekend if I can.

Just hold the crank with a wrench so it wont turn. There is a place on the driver side. you'll find it.....Actually.....I highly recommend using air tools for the job...but yes just hold the crank and stuff a 2x4 between the fly and housing and you'll be butter with the bolts.

I spoke with Jeff last night (from street level performance) - he said he didn't even take the transmission out, just slid it over. Did you end up removing it completly, or did you just slide it over too. I have a 1/2" impact gun, but he said he couldn't get an impact gun to fit when he slid the tranny over.....

That makes me wonder if I can even get one in.....?
