Angry Inline fuel pump burned up again

Well, about 3-4 wks ago, the inline fuel pump in my vortech FMU burned up. So i ordered a MSD inline from www.streetlevelperformance.com and tonite i noticed that my a/f gauge showed me running lean and i got home and i couldn't hear my pump running at all. There is a slight possibility that maybe it is wiring, but i will check it out tomorrow. But i am betting that the pump burned up again.

Both pumps have a max rating of 125psi..........i am running 9psi, so that it is 90psi plus whatever stock is. Could i be overloading the pump ???

Is anybody else running more than 9psi with SF's fuel system, i know a few are

^dayum that sucks man. There must be something wrong, cuz two pumps burning out seems too much for a coincidence. If i could post any legitimate reasons why then i would, but id be making stuff up. I just hope you figure it out soon. Good luck man

I think you have bad luck or something's pinched. Do you ever have the pump running with the engine off? That supposedly burns up the pump very quickly so avoid doing that.

On another note, the pumps SF ships with their kits support up to 600 hp so, if installed properly, you're not straining it.

it is wired to a constant power........when u turn the key on, the pump runs, but no fuel is going through it.

is that the right way to wire it??
there isn't a way to wire it so when the accelerator is pressed/depressed that is shuts on/off?
Or a way for it to kick in at a certain RPM?
like how nitrious kits do?

Well... If it's wired right, it only comes on when your key is in the "run (II)" position. If you keep the key in the "Acc (I)" position, only your radio is on, and the pump stays off.

Avoid putting your key in the II position while the engine is off, the more you do so, the longer your pump will last.

Makes since, Which constent power source did you guys hook yours up to. Sf says to find the power off of the fuse box under the hood, is this the correct way?

That's the constant for the relay that SF is supposed to send with the kit. The blue wire goes to your ingition key (black with yellow stripe i think...)... then you ground the gnd terminal on the relay.

When you turn the key, it sends power to the relay, opening an electronic switch, which then sucks power from the constant (red wire).
