Hey, I haven't seen anything on this topic yet, but who knows, I migth have missed it. My turbo is going to be installed next Saturday, but I don't want to wait until then to find out. I was just wondering from those of you who have a civic with vtec and a turbo, how it is? Can you feel the Vtec kick in more with the turbo? Does the Vtec sound any different. The reason I wondered this is because a friend of mine has a 2000 integra type r, and man when that vtec kicks in, your body is thrown back, and the sound of the car doubles, no doubt you definitly know when that vtec kicks on. I know his car is much more hi performance than ours. But I wondered if, with a turbo, it is anything like the type R.

Your friends has that kick because he has DOHC VTEC. I dont have a turbo D17, but I can almost promiss you that you wont have that same kick...unless you feather the throttle up to like 4000rpm, then hammer the throttle and pretent that its a VTEC punch. If you want that VTEC kick, get a K20A2, or K20A swap. If you want to know what that kick actually is, try searching for dohc vtec and read. That topic has been covered numerous times.
