acura type R engine

Yea im new on this forumn so dont treat me like an *******, but I will understand if u do. My question is how much of a horsepower difference is there from an RSX type S engine than a type R engine. I just hydrolocked my engine and need a new one so i am wondering if it is worth mony to buy a type R. Or if anyone has a better suggestion for an engine i should buy. Thanks alot

Its 220 vs 200. But considering a Hondata reflash would put an A2 right there, I don't think its worth it. Especially if you need parts later down the line.... its easer to get them for a US motor in the US.

I'm not too sure why this is in the suspension forum, so IBTM

Besides with the Toda N2 Engine kit for the type S you gain 57 HP over stock. Which puts your wheel numbers where the ITR's stock to the crank numbers are. IMO it's not worth it.

ITR K20 swap isnt worth it unless youre really **** about JDM stuff. There are quite a few of k20s for sale, some located in the for sale forum.

Get the K20A2 RSX Type-S engine. Then get the Toda Racing package.

Well worth it.

If I had the money I would

Yea right!!! There is a big difference between the K20a and K20a2

Here they are....

High compression pistons
Limited slip differential
Better gearing ( better final ratio)
Better flowing intake mani, & exhaust mani on TOP of the head & cams

Once we get done with my swap we are gonna do the Hondata programmable ECU. Say hello to 8800 RPM Redline!!!

Hey fly i was always under the impression that it was 9800 RPM Redline. I don't remember where i read it though it was a Spec site. I may be wrong though. I'll try to get a link.

ITR motor has s2000 valve springs as well

Toda has an ecu package that gives u a 9100 redline for the ITR motor as well ... also includes new cams and new valve springs ... Mugen came out with a similar one as well

57 HP with the Toda Kit. It's so nice.

I mean with Toda Header and Mugen Catback and Intake I bet you could get 75 HP with those 3 mods and the engine kit.

K20 is so nice!!!!!!

I watched the toda head package go onto a type-s and they lost significant power in the 5000rpm range. It was mostly top end power.
