hey how much is it to replace the turbo in this car...........cause i want to buy it ....it has low miles good body and rims on it but the turbo doesnt work............let me know please........pluse does the all wheel drive still work if the turbo doesnt work....?
Turbo question
I've been messing with DSM's for years.. it depends on how much power you want.. if you're looking for a good 300 steetable hp just go with a small 16g.. it'll spool up nice and quick and is good for about 18psi max.. if you wan't more power you could get an Evo 16g or a "big" 16g.. you can't get them a whole bunch of places.. I would say for a small 16g that's been ported and clipped you can get for less than $600 if you look around.. and no, the turbo being blown won't affect the AWD system.
more info..
It also depends on if it's a 1st or 2nd gen GSX.. the 1st gen came with a TD-05 14b stock.. the 2nd was a T25.. if it's a fist gen you can just bolt a 16g in with no mods.. if a 2nd gen you'll need to buy the u-pipe(I believe that's what it's called) to get a 16g to bolt up to the manifold.. but there is a modified version of the T25 that can be had for second gens with no mods that's *almost* as good as a 16g in terms of spool up and bulk power.

What some people aren't bringing up is the fact that yes you can upgraded the turbo for just a little bit more, but you still need to do something about fuel. A t28 for a 2g is nice because it all bolts up, and appears the same, just with more flow. Upgrade the injectors and throw in an safc2 you should be good to go. Then there's cooling (intercooler etc...) you may want to consider.
If your as strapped for cash as you are, stay with the stock turbo. You could always ship yours out seeing how it's not running anyway. Get it rebuilt, ported, and clipped. You'll have more power than a stock turbo, and it'll run like new, providing the turbines are in good shape.
