Fuel System Help
Hey
I've looked through a couple of posts after searching, but couldn't find what I was looking for
Can someone help me out?
I'm almost done piecing together the parts for my custom turbo kit. I have an 03 SiR (Si), and was wondering what fuel computer to get.
Here's what I'm planning on doing:
1) get the AEM wideband a/f gauge
2) get the HKS S-AFR (super air/fuel regulator)
3) write down the a/f numbers without the turbo installed, in 500rpm integrals
4) install turbo
5) use the HKS to correct the numbers back to stock, using what I wrote down
Will this work? Will it be this easy? I'm scared about the fuel management aspect of my custom turbo setup.
BTW: I'll be running 440cc RC injectors, on the stock fuel rail with NO return fuel system.
any help would be appreciated...thanks!

well, although nobody replied, I thought I'd share some of my findings:
I'm going to wait and get the cybernation "Gaurdian E.I."
it is a self-adjusting fuel computer that will handle all of the programming for you. you don't have to do any tuning, or spend any time on a dyno...the EI stands for "Embedded Intelligence". It basically evens out the air/fuel mixture for you, without your intervention.
it's currently under testing and hasn't hit the market yet. just thought I'd give anybody a heads up if they're reading this.
oh yeah, it apparently will come with a wideband O2 sensor!!!

Just wondering why SF's fuel system wouldn't work for you? their system is very easy to install

Well he does have the K20 engine instead. The same concept and hookup would work fine, but SF would need to calibrate and adjust the sensors/fuel accordingly.

slapping a turbo on there will throw the AF way off, and trying to get it back to stock still wont work ur going to be adding both air and fuel in all areas, so the ratio may be like stock but at higher levels, cam gears are pointless in this part of ur endeavour, they make things that can electronically change the timing, are u going to sit on a dyno and adjust screws in the cam gear, what a waste of dyno time..also u better research and rethink what ur going to attempt....ur RC 440's into a stock rail, bwahhhh, it wont work just like that sorry to burst the bubble, they dont just slide right in, and if ur scared of the whole fuel management aspect of this setup, u shouldnt be doing it unless u know exactly what it requires

I'm going to go with the cybernations computer, unless the SF fuel system can be easily made to fit the K20?
Maybe I'll talk to them and see how they handle it. It's not the same turbo.
This is why I want to use the gaurdian EI: it self adjusts accordingly! it's nuts!
it supposedly "Intelligently" remaps the fuel for you using a wideband O2 sensor.
hrm.
well, thanks guys...well, maybe not C2i0v0i1C hehehe

GO WITH CYBERNATIONS! Go to the clubRSX forums and SEE how happy the people with cybernations setups are!!!! I cannot stress it enough.....

, so i totally take back anything i said. i havent done research on the k20 for any reason so, all the power to u and whatever comes of ur project hopefully it turns out good, and Artificial intelligence is a new way to go. Thread Starter

no worries C2i0v0i1C!
out of curiosity...what internals do you have? I see that you have run at 14psi.
I'm aiming for one bar of boost (~14.47psi?), and want to do it safely...I'd love to hear what internals you have!
I was thinking of the following (in the longrun):
block guard
pistons (JE 9.0:1)
conrods (eagle)
polished head (maybe PnP, but at least polished)
anything else needed to be 110% reliable/safe at 1 BAR?

the only internals i have are JE pistons, stock rods, and stock sleeves, two headgaskets....i think 1 bar is 14.7, in the long run get sleeves, never go blockguard IMO,........ as long as u have the proper tuning and some internals to sustain the higher levels of boost, u should be fine, if u build the bottom end, forget 14 psi, u better be in the 20's

sweet
like I said, my main goal is just reliability...I'm not aiming for huge numbers.
although, 1.5BAR would be nice
ok, screw the blockgaurd, I'll nab the following:
pistons
conrods (just for the helluvit)
darton sleeve
then maybe I'll take a crack at polishing the head myself
kewl, thanks for the tips!

Yeah, the cybernation RSX kit is a beast and throws down nice numbers. We carry it and sold one to a gentleman on here who did a K20 swap. They will be very pleased with the outcome.

now for 1.5 bar u better have some kind of rods besides the stock ones
good man for screwing the block guard
