I honestly think that it would be too much work, and not worth the hastle. A K20 swap, is a good one, but remember that their cams and cranks both rotate in opposite directions of the D17 motor's. In other words, you've got more than just an engine swap on your hands. Not only that, they wanted I think 6000 for that motor, and it doesnt' include everything you're gonna need. Your best bet is to keep to natural aspiration, standard boltons, and if you're die hard, then you can get a port and polish job done. I did that to my accord, and it is very effective. Another option is to see if any type of forced induction ever does come out, and if not, there's always laughing gas.
k20 still works
regardless that it turns opposite
just as long u get all the parts needed for the swap
when i say get all the parts I MEAN EVERYTHING!!!
but its pointless putting an older GEN engine. lol
it prolly wont fit unless u do some serious modification

That is what I thought too. no older engines in newer cars, only newer engines in older cars. I think the only exception is a resoration project on a historic car.
hahaha u guyz are jokes
how would it be illegal if they dont find out?
its only illegal if the cops pull ya over and open ur hood to check ur vin number on the engine then its illegal
even if u go for a emission's test. if u want they dont even see ur car and it passes. come on do the math. this world isnt really innocent from people who got money!!!

only a newbie would ask this question.
slam is right. It wont fit, considering the 2k1 has a foot less of engine bay room to work with. Even if you could get the B16 in it would be a waste of money, same with the B18C. Why the hell did you buy a new car anyway? The K20A2 is the only engine worth swapping, and right now, only a select few people are going to be able to complete it to the severely high cost involved.
Start praying for turbo or a blower, or just buy some N20. Youre not going to be doing a swap anytime soon

I bought the $6000 motor you're speaking of (got it for $5500), so when you state that it doesn't have everything required for the motor swap, please be more specific about which additional parts you think would be needed. The kit I bought is comprehensive and includes the motor, transmission, tranny, computer, all accessories, basically everything you need to complete the swap. Mark Dovell from Greenleaf said that he sent me basically everything that was attached to the engine.

My understanding is that no existing physical components of the car need to be modified. The K20A will bolt right in. Modifications may have to be made to some electronics component connections, however. We should know for certain in about 1.5 - 2 weeks.

Sorry, actually the motor i am talking about is the SOHC engine ZC. Would it be easier ? I do not want to put a DOHC engine into the car. I like the older engines like the ZC, which i can get easy through some friends.

According the the information provided by hondaswap.com, Hasport is working on mounts for the b16a and the b18 blocks to fit into the newer 7thgen civics. Although they believe these ideas will not be a success from the lack of interest.

I think this K20 swap stuff shouldnt be done until our cars are like CRX old man.. put some hard earned miles on the D17.. it will get you around for a while! I wouldnt swap until I broke at least 150k..
