I ordered a replacement headgasket from majestic honda last week and I noticed there was 2 different part numbers. I called to investigate and I discovered that honda updated to a nipon leakless head gasket. It arived today, and this thing looks bullet proof. Its made from 2 layers of steel that have been rubber coated around the seeling points. I realy think that this thing will hold a lot of boost before it gives up. I'll try to post some pics of it later tonight.

That's awesome!! PICS PICS PICS!!!
Oh yeah, and since they have a different part number, would it be too much to ask to measure it against your stock head gasket and see if there's any difference in thickness?!

WELL doesnt one of them say leakless? obviously i want that one.. they guy continues to stare at the screen and is like.. ' do you want a job? '
haha i was laughin my *** off and took an application.
but yea GET the leakless one.. obviously its gotta be better then the other one. NO? lol
well i have a pic of the normal one from my old engine... post urs maybe u can physically see it in the pics the differences

yea dont run ne more boost. this will just stop it from blowing at 9-10.. i hope.
mike(cat) told me to torque the head bolts to 57 instead of 49. so maybe that is supposed to help alot.. but yea ur rods will break.

thanks...yeah i knew all of that...i was just a lil confused...thought that yall were going to try and up the boost.....was just wondering....i am gettin a diff motor built not to long from now...waiting on it to be pulled out of wrecked car....exospeed is going to build it for me for 20lbs safely....
I seriously doubt this thing is 100% leakless. I can believe that it would be harder to burn off a seal on this gasket than it would be on a regular oem gasket BUT, what is the first thing to go on your motor when you're tearing **** up? The headgasket, almost always.
If you are running safely, with just a little bit more torque on your headbolts, you should be fine. If you aren't running safely, you may not know it until you do some serious damage because the gasket never gave. That's the beauty of these engines, the headgasket is the weakest link (and cheapest, usually). By removing the weakest link, you'll destroy the next weakest link which could be a piston and it could be a rod. It's much more time consuming, aggravating and costly to replace parts in the bottom end than just replacing a gasket.
Replacing the headgasket, all you do is pull the head, make sure it isn't warped, have it milled if it is, put a new gasket in and put it back together. When you pull the entire bottom end apart, there are more gaskets to replace, more parts to keep track of and guess what? You have to pull the head off anyways.
With replacing the gasket, you know something's wrong immediately and you can catch it and fix it before you do more damage.

Awesome info guys. Any idea on how hard it is to replace the gasket? I dont want to pay the premium to have some one else do it...
While the head is off... Any suggestions for other mods while I'm there that I can do with minimal downtime? I'm looking into rods and pistions... I may just do it all at once, including a KMS block guard...
Any suggestions? I wanna do this right, and need to keep it reliable for road-racing...

I know the block guard does not replace a built engine (rods/piston) but it cant hurt too much. I am looking for a used small block to build out for insurance.
