Lightbulb **Important News for Emanage**

I have a 2k civic ex with a custom built turbo kit. I recently installed an emanage to control fuel, air, boost cut, etc. After installing, I kept getting a 14 error code which is a vtec input signal jumper or wiring error. After troubleshooting for an hour or two I decided to call greddy. I spoke with a tech that said that the emanage cannot control vtec on the i-vtec's. I quickly responded with "no, no this isn't an i-vtec." He immediately responded with "trust me, the s2000, the civic ex, the rsx, and the si all have i-vtec, they just don't tell you on the ex or s2k." I found this quite interesting. Anyhow, if you are having problems with the vtec on the emanage return all of the jumpers to their normal positions and return the vtec and vtm wiring to their normal positions. Everything else should work fine then. He also warned me against messing with ignition timing to. He said the coils cannot take much adjustment.

Hahahaha - stupid Greddy. They don't know shiznet about their own products. If you update to V1.36 you shouldn't have any problems at all. Go here: htt://www.sk2i.com - These were the first guys that got the E-manage to work with the newer engines. The timing works, the vtec works, everything works. Greddy are idiots. Their techs do not know about their own products.....

Regardless - members on here have been having no issues with the E-manage. As far as I know there are at LEAST 3 of us that have it working. Granted I don't use the VTEC feature myself. Greddy has horrible technical support when it comes to this stuff. They are wishy washy with their support at best. When members bought the RSX kits, they had so many problems. Instead of risking poor sales (and many returns) they flew a guy around the country to fix them all. Unfortunately for US, they don't give a damn about the S2000 or the civic, so they don't "officially" support our cars....But it still works!

Opto I just read your whole post on the trouble shooting you did....So what do you mean that you havne't had problems? There are only a couple of us running emanage btw. Boosted2k2 is no longer running it now that he is returning his car to stock. My car is running well now that I changed the settings. I have the first three on 4 8 B. The jumpers are all set to non-vtec.

I'm having trouble with data logging absolute pressure though for some reason. Do you have to have another sensor for this?

None yet! I still don't have my manifold or injectors. This project is turning out to be LONGER than I expected! When I get everything I plan on running around 8-10 PSI max (after tuning). I bought the greddy pressure sensor so that I could tune the emanage off of boost, instead of engine RPM. That way the emanage would tune per load, instead of just RPM, which is cheaper way of tuning (that works, but you can't get utilize the full potential of the unit).

As far ast he AAV, they should all be set to 0. You can verify that they are via the display in the software on your computer. You don't need to use the AAV's because you will be using a laptop / software to tune things (if you have the support tool). The AAV's are more of a manual / mechanical crude tuning method if you don't have the support tool.

I mean that everything seems to be working fine. I verified that the timing changes with a timing light. I did not verify that I am adding more fuel (or taking it away via the MAP sensor adjustment) because I don't have a sniffer. However if things were wired up incorrectly the red light would blink and throw an error code, which it hasn't done. As far as datalogging, I'm not sure what you are doing wrong - you might not need the greddy sensor to get pressure. Of course, I'm not sure. The only thing I usually look at is the MAP voltage, which correllates with the pressure. The greddy sensor may need to be installed to read "pressure." I haven't played around with the sensor yet too much....

So at this time your are still NA? I just did a data-logging run and the car is running great. I changed the AAV settings some just to be on the safe side while boosting....
What turbo are you planning on running?
I'm running a T3/T4b...
I just ordered the injector harness too...

The emanage can data log in kPa, in pressure voltage, or in mmhg...when i tried to do it in millimeters of mercury it wouldn't show anything however, kPa does work.....I wonder if you need the pressure sensor to monitor this??? For now I'll just stick to conversions....
