Arrow Porting Head will it help....

Im thinking of getting Dh racings ported head for my D17 but I dont know if it will help or damage anything since Im completly stock (except for exhaust). Im planning on getting an SF Turbo in the next 2 months but the Group buy sounds good at this time.

Should I get the ported head? Will it damage anything while running stock? Should I wait until Im boosted?

Thanks in advance.

It will not damage ur motor at all..........it simply increases air flow throughout the head providing more hp. And if u are going to boost with a ported head......u MUST get a upgraded clutch. And u might as well get a lightened flywheel too.........around 400-500 bucks for clutch and flywheel.

Thanks again for the info looks like I'll be getting the Head after all. Also should I consider getting an Intake and high flow cat and run it until I get the turbo?

We will be selling a full mandrel bent 3" exhaust system that is meant to be used with our 3" downpipes. They can also be modified to fit the 2.5" ones as well. There will be an option to have them jet-hot coated for you die-hard people out there.

look for them to be available late feb.

Yeah the custom setup sounds promising, I was talkin to Mike S about it. UPGRADE the clutch. At 7.5psi, my engine slipped free of the clutch lol. Look to spend more than 4-500 if you're buying a quality setup. 609 for a stage 2 clutch (act) and the prolite wheel is a great setup, I just bought it (Dezod.com). Check in the "other parts" section for pics and my quick review so far...

If you're buying any exhaust, go with a cat-back system and nothing more. Buy iridium plugs (IK20, IK22 or equivelant), and save your money! After the clutch, I reccomend an upper strut bar to help with torque steer.

But yeah, porting is nothing but good for your engine. It helps it breathe. Not sure if DH has the options, but buy the "turbo porting" if you KNOW you're being boosted. This will only help you in the future and it's still safe to drive with non-turbo and a turbo port job.

Re: the head p and p:
I already have the SF kit and just sent my head out to have p and p by DH this A.M.- I think it is definately worth it and will let you know once it is on the car what gains get. Have a dyno w/ just the kit and other mods of 183.5 hp and 189.5tq so I can compare when I pull a few dynos w/ the head work....I am really psyched !!!

No, unfortunately we do not have an ETA on it yet. But i can assure you that everything we do will be listed on the site. And you should be able to purchase the parts directly off the page.
