i plan on turboing an automatic. i need advice
i plan on going fi pretty soon on my automatic. the only major mods i have done was a port/polish, i/h/e with a modified torque converter. the stall is 3200 rpms instead of factory 2500 rpms. i got this done at a qualified transmission shop. i spent 1 g on it. i got to run my automatic 2001 civic today in the track and i used 20" slicks with 14" miata rims for faster acceleration. does a 15.6 @ 88.16 mph sound right for a conversion? my best 1/8th mile was a 10.004 @ 73.76 mph. my launch was a 2.415 60 ft time. any good? what times can i expect with an sf turbo? i keep on hearing i have to get a tranny cooler. but where do i get it? i hope to be in the 14s for the quarter at least with an 11psi turboed d17a2 like catalyst. i feel a lot of power in this one pretty soon if i go along with a turbo. any advice before i go turbo? or should i save even more and do a k20a2 with the automatic base rsx tranny and base ecu? which has more advantages? with these calculations, how many bhp and or whp would i have?
i started typing this long paragraph like the one you just wrote.. but i had to delete it cause as i was going threw answering your questions in my response i noticed that while you searched a little , you didnt search much....
check out that flashing button up top.\
btw.. a base rsx is rated at 160hp if im correct.... just some food for thought about that.
