Future Plans for Turbo
My civic is 100% stock right now, but I am learning and planning about all my possiblities of tuning before I actually spend any money. From what I've read, SF turbo's are the way to go. I know that an engine must be "built" in order to accomodate the turbo, but I'm not sure as to what the do's and don'ts are. I am planning on getting i/h/e, but is there any product I shouldn't get if I plan to boost? Thanks.

^^ Ya the intake and header are untimately pointless if your going to boost. Most likely if your going to boost, look into a down pipe and exhaust.

I know how turbo's work, and a few elementary terms, but I just don't know how to go from naturally aspirated to forced induction. Thanks for the input, guys.

okay I have intake and cat back exhaust...so getting the turbo would get rid of my intake right?...okay i was looking into getting header with hi-flow cat until I decided to get turbo instead...do I still need to buy the high flow cat extension? or am I totally wrong...is the down-pipe same as a cat back extension...LOST!! HELP!! okay this and say I get the turbo and all...what else to do so I can gradually improve my performance while boosting...what are some good products and where can they be found...pen and pad awaiting
- Yes, no need for an intake with turbo kit.
- With SF kit you dont need anything but your stock downpipe. If you want to you can get a high flow cat to compliment the turbo.
- Of course you could get a turbo exhaust system (thermal), or just 2.5 custom will do. Not sure if Thermal makes the Turbo Exhaust System for the 7th gen. Denso Iridium Plugs (I think IK-22). Boost Controller whether it be electronic or manual. I personally have the Profec B SPec 2 and its pretty nice.
Good luck and prepare ahead of time it really helps.

ok i asked this b4 and no one knew. im gettin my turbo this year. how long b4 we will need to replace the internals with aftermarket? im just plannin to run 4-5 psi daily. im not gonna really push it. just want it for the show effect. yes its stupid but im into going to shows and showin my car. turbo= more points= got a chance to win. one more thing im plannin also gettin a nx wet 50 shot. when i have my turbo and n2o what should my gauges be readin normally? what should i look for if theres a problem with the a.f gauge or the boost gauge and etc.? thanks im learnin as much as possible b4 buyin the n2o and turbo cuz i dont wanna blow my car. i can get them now but i chose not cuz i dont know enuff now.
4 or 5 psi will not warrant new internals ever. Unless you have an wideband o2 sensor you cannot get accurate air/fuel readings. Hondas come stock with a narrowband 02 sensor that cannot read a wider more accurate range like the wideband. Sim, order the turbo kit now man you have to wait 3 months anyway cause SF is backed up. Plus you got me to help you if you need it....

AND ME ....YAY!
aight so WTF is rich/lean and all that other stuff on the gauges...I was planning on getting the gauges and all but I wanna know what they mean though so I'll know what i'll be looking at...Usually I see people with with the triple gauge pod...what are those gauges USUALLY used for? How do u TAKE CARE OF A TURBO AND YOUR ENGINE? Yo if I didn't know any better, I'LL TURN DAT SHITT UP. But I think I would run on 6-7 or 7-8 daily...depends on how I'm feeling. I plan to get the SF kit with the upgraded turbo and alcohol injection...whats this I hear about people buying rubbing alcohol and using it on ???? where are they putting this? What does it do? FASTER!!??
I admit, I'M STUPID. Does anyone make a book so I can learn all of this stuff or anyone know of a website that explains step-by-step.
